Story
For years, I've dreamt of what college life could bring, and while some things changed, there was always one constant. It didn't matter how wild I allowed my imagination to run, it always led me to the same place in the end. It led me to him. My future was clear, and he was it. Until suddenly, he wasn't. Now there's a new man in my life, one who isn't afraid to go after what he wants, and what he wants...is me.

The hype did not live up to the expectations
Reviewed: 03-30-24
I think this book is so popular on TikTok that it set the standards very high. The beginning was good but it quickly lost my interest. By the end I was struggling to finish it. Not necessarily a bad book but not amazing as I expected from so many rave reviews.

Story
Eve Hatch lives for surprises! Just kidding. She expects every tomorrow to be pretty much the same as today. She loves her cozy apartment in Brooklyn that’s close to her childhood best friend Willa, and far from her midwestern, traditional family who has never really understood her. While her job is only dream-adjacent, it’s comfortable and steady. She always knows what to expect from her life . . . until she finds herself expecting after an uncharacteristic one-night stand.

The narrator was amazing!

This book would have gotten 5 stars if the main character wouldn’t have gotten so annoying towards the end. She became whiny and not as like able as in the beginning. It felt almost like a different character. However, I loved, loved, loved the narrator and it has to be top 2 as far as that goes.

Story
Straitlaced Evelyn and reformed bad boy Marco might make an unlikely pair, but the two lovebirds couldn’t be more head over heels for each other. Sure, they’ve had some missed calls along the way, but all that’s in the past. They’ve got their sights set on forever, and the next stop is a walk down the aisle in front of their friends and family. It’s the big day, and everyone’s gathered to watch Marco and Evelyn say "I do". Everyone except Evelyn that is. Is the bride running late or running? The surprising answer might just be in their voicemails.

As much as I wanted to like this book, I just could not get into it. I felt like more of a connection between the main characters was needed. I could tell they had sexual chemistry but never felt that emotional connection that you feel from other books/characters.

In order to protect the case, the lawyers demand no one give me any information about my life...I must remember on my own. My only help comes from my brother’s best friend and world-renowned investigative reporter Spencer Cross. He has no idea how many nights I’ve spent dreaming of his name—and his body—next to mine. Each day we spend together, I find it harder to want my old life back.

I really liked it, especially the first 2/3. I do think the plot twist could have been a lot better but I still give it a 4 out of 5 because, for the most part, it kept me engaged.

JARED - If I had a dollar for every time Banner Morales made my heart skip a beat...The heart everyone assumes is frozen over. Her anger is...arousing. Every glare from those fire-spitting eyes, every time she grits her teeth, gets me...well, you know. If I had a dollar for every time she's put me in my place, I'd be an even richer man. I'm a successful sports agent because I assume "no" means you'll think about it. I'm sure what you meant to say is, "Coming right up." They say even rich men don't always get what they want, but those men don't know how to play the game.

Let me start by saying that I loved the narration! It was a plus to have a Latina character. Loved that the characters were not perfect but in the end you love them for being unapologetically them.

Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

I really expected to love this book. I heard so many good things about it, but it didn’t live up to the hype for me. It felt drawn out and towards the end I had to take a break. I came back to it a week after, hoping it would somehow change my perspective. It didn’t. There’s no way around it, this one was a bore.

Story
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date. But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Underwhelming
Reviewed: 10-21-22
It started off slow and it never took off. Also, the repetition of so many parts of Lilly’s journal was boring the second time around. Literally reading the exact same thing again in a second book :/ I felt that the story dragged and then at the end it literally jumped from important part to important part in about 3 chapters. More of their story finally together and married would have made it way better. I wish there would have been more importance given to the ending and less of all the parts that seemed to be fillers. It felt like most of the book could have been wrapped up in 2-3 chapters instead of a whole book. Extremely slow and not even close to being as good as It Ends with Us.
