Historia
Leo Graf was just your average highly efficient engineer: mind your own business, fix what's wrong, and move on to the next job. But all that changed on his assignment to the Cay Habitat, where a group of humanoids had been secretly, commercially bioengineered for working in free fall. Could he just stand there and allow the exploitation of hundreds of helpless children merely to enhance the bottom line of a heartless mega-corporation?

Unique

Interesting take on “alien” species. Heavy on some engineering details. Well read. Worth a listen.

Easily Digestible
Revisado: 09-28-24
The brief chapters presented complex matters in a clear and understandable format. Good emphasis on the critical scientists as much as the science.

Historia
For centuries, poets and philosophers extolled the benefits of a walk in the woods: Beethoven drew inspiration from rocks and trees; Wordsworth composed while tromping over the heath; Nikola Tesla conceived the electric motor while visiting a park. Intrigued by our storied renewal in the natural world, Florence Williams sets out to uncover the science behind nature's positive effects on the brain.

Well presented and understandable for a general audience. Yet, built on a foundation of data. Solid narrator.

Not bad
Revisado: 10-14-23
Good plot based upon current events.
But, most of the lead characters are women, and, you can’t find a female narrator? What’s up with that?

Historia
It’s summer in Memphis. The sweat is sticking to Rudy Baylor’s shirt and creditors are nipping at his heels. Once he had aspirations of breezing through law school and punching his ticket to the good life. Now he doesn’t have a job or a prayer—except for one: an insurance dispute that leaves a family devastated and opens the door for a lawsuit, if Rudy can find a way to file it. By the time Rudy gets to court, a heavyweight corporate defense team is there to meet him. And suddenly he’s in over his head, plunged into a nightmare of lies and legal maneuverings.

Slow Start
Revisado: 06-30-23
The first half of the book could be cut by 50%. It couldn’t decide if it was a rant about the uselessness of law school, an expose of the greed and evil of insurance companies, an account of the depredations of the legal profession, or a trial thriller. When it settled into the trial, it found it’s lane and picked up interest. Some of the author’s other books are more polished and tight.
