Story
They say you shouldn't ask your mom whether your business is a good idea, because she loves you and will lie to you. This is technically true, but it misses the point. You shouldn't ask anyone if your business is a good idea. It's a bad question, and everyone will lie to you at least a little. As a matter of fact, it's not their responsibility to tell you the truth. It's your responsibility to find it, and it's worth doing right.

A good reminder on how to do user interviews right

This book is short and to the point. Rob gives examples of the tasks we all fall into when trying to launch a new product or improve our existing offering. Even though I knew about them, I still occasionally fall into these traps. The Mom Test is a good reminder to avoid mistakes and you can get back to it often to keep that approach fresh in your mind.

This book is definitely a game changer to how I negotiate deals
Reviewed: 02-21-20
Chris Voss is clearly an expert negotiator and techniques relate very closely to methods mentioned in amazing sales books like SPIN selling. He dives deep into what makes people tick and how you can frame your negotiations to get the most desired results. I'm eager to use it when making offers to our new hires in the very near future.
