Story
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

lack of backstop for the other races of the world. I found the trolls to be compelling, but little backstory for them.

others have criticized the amount of sex depicted in these books, I find that to be a very small part of the story probably just the writers overactive ego. and that's okay stories are an extension of a writer. I enjoy the imagination of what could be displayed in the series.

Story
Jax is a pretty regular guy, has a job he tolerates, a girl he kinda, sorta loves...and he fights creatures from the UnderVerse in his sleep, leaving him covered in horrific scars when he wakes up. When his brother vanishes, and five years later he's kidnapped as well, he's given a stark choice by his asshat of a father: Go to the UnderVerse in reality, travel to the capitol of that ruined realm at the center of reality, and open a portal for the Noble Houses to return home...or die.

although the narrators accent is sometimes annoying ,I almost stopped listening after the first chapter ,I'm glad I didn't It got infinitely better as it went on. My only complaint with the literary RPG is that sometimes when they go into the describing or interface it gets monotonous.
