Story
In the early spring of 1845, Henry David Thoreau built and lived in a cabin near the shore of Walden Pond in rural Massachusetts. For the next two years, he enacted his own Transcendentalist experiment, living a simple life based on self-reliance, individualism, and harmony with nature. The journal he kept at that time evolved into his masterwork, Walden, an eloquent expression of a uniquely American philosophy.

I first heard of this book through the book Into the Wild. as I started listening I wasn't quite sure how I would feel about the book near the end. there are parts of this book that I question I listen and came to understand. I particularly like the last few chapters. definitely an interesting book that I would recommend to all of my adventure Seekers.

I love this book. this author is an icon in the ultramarathon community. I like how he shared the mental and physical toll that this race is run had on his body. and the total do I go right here that ultra marathon had on his life. the fact that he had historical information added some Joy I didn't know I wanted.

Story
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

truly inspiring

David's life story is an inspiration and a motivator to get to work. the book itself is outstanding but the audible version including a podcast is nice twist that allows us to see get more in-depth with the story. now it's time to take a story and use it as a tool to help better myself. thank you Goggins for sharing and bring it all out there, you truly are one bad mother fucker.
