The 1st book is really enjoyable, and the 2nd book is pretty good too but thus far the books after #2 are basically the same as #2. I haven't seen any character development since the end of book #1. This makes me really sad because I was so excited about this series during book #1.

The narrator has a nice voice, it just seems better suited to doing a news broadcast than reading a romance novel...
The slow and exceptionally clear dictation made the humor in the dialog fall a bit flat. I would expect the cadence of the narrators speach to be coming from an android or someone in a situation where they are not comfortable speaking.

Wished I'd stopped after the first one
Reviewed: 01-24-20
The previous book was sweet and ended at a good point. This book highlights a bunch of bad qualities in Peter that make him a glaringly bad choice for Laura Jean, she has become just another stupid teenage girl. I couldn't just enjoy the story because the main character is bent on being with an incompatible, lying narcissist, and does not respect herself because she makes excuses for his disloyal behavior and goes back to him

Did not like male lead
Reviewed: 01-01-20
I couldn't like the male lead. What he does to the female lead was a premeditated intentional betrayal of trust, I felt like he was forgiven far too easily and quickly. As a result I was distracted by my dislike of Rendan lost respect for the Carla and could not be happy for the couple at the end of the story. The voice actors were excellent, and I have enjoyed all the previous stories of this series.

Excellent historical fantasy romance
Reviewed: 08-17-19
I've read this story, and was delighted to find it on audio book. My only complaint is that when the voice actor is narrating the female lead's inner thoughts, she has a tendency to sound stilted. Other than that she does a good job.
