not current for the post covid construction market
Reviewed: 09-20-24
this would be a very good guide for pricing a flip. unfortunately the prices of everything have gone so crazy in the post covid world that I noticed that in many cases the cost of just the materials for some of these jobs are greater than the prices quoted by the author. since this is predominantly a price guide it is no longer very useful. would be great if regularly updated like blue book for house flipping.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war - and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.

This was a pretty slow story. It had lots of weird dream like sequences that contributed little to the plot.

Good science poor delivery

interesting tidbits on math programming and some other science stuff. The characters seem contrived. The motives for extreme actions of the government seem insufficient. assumptions of characters committing wrongdoings are not backed up by anything substantive in the book.

First time I have read a how-to book that provided no information that wasn't self-evident or I already knew.
I had the impression that this author tends to speak authoritatively on subjects that he does not know well.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

The social dynamic of the society portrayed in this book is so warped as to be less believable then the scifi elements of the story. the book never adequately justifies why the world is so hostile. it is just one long lazily written action sequence. boring.
