Clarissa’s writing appears in Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, RELEVANT, Modern Loss, Grief Digest and more. She co-hosted Christianity Today’s “Surprised by Grief” podcast and produces Christianity Today's flagship news podcast, "The Bulletin." Clarissa’s debut book, Beyond the Darkness: A Gentle Guide for Living with Grief and Thriving After Loss, was a best-selling new release in 2022. She is the author of the Beyond the Darkness Devotional, Hurt Help Hope: A Real Conversation about Teen Grief and Life after Loss, and Hope Comes to Stay (forthcoming 2025).

    Clarissa is a remarried widow and lives with her large blended family in the Boston area.

    John Lynch is a speaker, author, and former pastor. After 27 years as the teaching pastor at Open Door Fellowship in Phoenix, Arizona, John joined Trueface in 1997 and began speaking nationally and both authoring and coauthoring many resources such as The Cure and TrueFaced, and his own story in On My Worst Day. As an outlet for his love of writing and performing, John co-founded and was both a playwright and actor for Sharkey Productions, a theater troupe focused on Gospel-anchored theater productions for those still seeking Jesus. John and his wife Stacey have three grown children and a growing troupe of grandchildren.

    Natalie Runion, Pastor’s Kid turned Pastor. She lives in Colorado Springs, CO with her husband Tony and their sweet daughters where she is on staff at New Life Church as Pastor of Women and Creative Pastor of Family Ministry. Natalie's very first book released in June of 2023 with David C. Cook where she shared more of her story of the brutal beauty of being raised in the church and 42 years later still here, holding on to Jesus. She is a worship leader, songwriter, teacher, mentor and lover of all things family, friends and Jesus.

    Matthew Soerens is the Vice President of Advocacy and Policy at World Relief, where he provides oversight for all advocacy initiatives and policy positions of World Relief. He also serves as the National Coordinator for the Evangelical Immigration Table, a coalition that advocates for immigration reforms consistent with biblical values.
    Matthew previously served as US Director of Church Mobilization, where he helped evangelical churches understand the realities of refugees and immigration and to respond in ways guided by biblical values. His World Relief journey began as a Department of Justice-accredited legal counselor at World Relief’s local office in Wheaton, Illinois and, before that, with World Relief’s partner organization in Managua, Nicaragua. He’s also the co-author of Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis (Moody Publishers, 2016).

    As an expert counselor she provides compassionate care to individuals seeking healing and restoration that is connected to their faith. As an author and speaker, she uses her platform to share her knowledge and experience with others, empowering them to embrace wholeness and wellness in all of life.
    In addition to having a passion for counseling, Eliza also loves to be out in nature. When she is not in the office, you can find her exploring the beauty of the outdoors. Whether she’s wandering along a trail, soaking in the sunshine near a lake, or simply taking in the peaceful sounds of a nearby river, Eliza finds refreshment in the serenity and beauty of God’s creation.
