  • Self-Control - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jul 4 2025
When’s the last time you had to practice some real self-discipline or hold yourself back from taking the easy route? I’ve gone through seasons with my health habits—sometimes I’m consistent, other times not so much. I know I feel better mentally and physically when I move my body, even just a walk, but staying disciplined gets tough when life throws curveballs. Still, building that habit of training—of showing up—is worth it, and that’s what we’re diving into today.

  • Gentleness - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jul 3 2025
How would you define powerful? Sit with that for a minute. The Greek word for gentleness is prautés (prah-oo'-tace), meaning mildness, humility, meekness. When we remain soft and gentle, we are open to seeing from God's perspective, which is so unlike our own. We're open to understanding life differently outside of our experience. It allows us to be humble, empathetic, and continually growing.

  • Peace - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jun 26 2025
If you're like me, you may have held (or hold) the belief that peace means an absence of fighting. But peace, or the concepts of peace in the Bible (as encompassed in the words "eiréné" and "shalom" - which have a richer meaning in their original language), is actually defined as wholeness or well-being in all ways, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially.

  • Joy - Fruit of the Spirit - Galatians 5
    Jun 25 2025
What brings you joy and delight? The Greek word used for joy is chara (kar-ah), meaning exceeding joy (joyfulness, rejoicing), also gladness, cheerfulness, calm delight. God gives us the gift of delight, of something thank-worthy, of rest, of pure joy that doesn't depend on our circumstances or good-ness.
