  • The Better Everyday Podcast | S2 Ep.7 Breaking Free from the Perfectionist Cycle
    Mar 10 2025

Welcome back to The Better Everyday Podcast where we are unlocking our best self one episode at a time.

In this episode of The Better Everyday Podcast, we dive deep into the harmful cycle of perfectionism and how it can shape our lives, often without us even realizing it. David opens up about his experience growing up with strict parents, where he felt he had to be the "perfect" kid to receive the love, affirmation, and encouragement he craved. He shares how this pressure to fit a mold led to years of self-criticism and a constant fear of falling short.

We explore the importance of parents creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can be themselves—where they are allowed to make mistakes and know they are loved unconditionally, regardless of their achievements. We also discuss how this dynamic doesn't just affect us as kids, but follows us into adulthood, shaping how we interact with ourselves and others.

We reflect on the damaging effects of not giving ourselves grace, how we often hold ourselves—and those around us—up to impossible standards, and how we can break free from this cycle of judgment and perfectionism. Through healing, self-love, and the process of change, we can start to embrace who we truly are and extend grace to ourselves and others along the way.

Tune in for an insightful conversation about growth, healing, and the journey toward breaking free from perfectionism!

  • The Better Everyday Podcast | S2 Ep.3 The. Important of what you Focus on
    Feb 10 2025

Welcome back to The Better Everyday Podcast where we are unlocking our best self one episode at a time!

In this episode, we dive deep into the power of focus and the impact it has on our daily lives. Every day, we are presented with a mixture of good, bad, and ugly. It’s easy to get caught up in the negative or ignore parts of our lives that are difficult to face. But what happens when we take a step back and choose to see the whole picture?

We explore the importance of acknowledging all aspects of our lives – the beautiful moments, the struggles, and the painful experiences. This is where true inner health begins: by facing our fears and processing the emotions that come with them. We discuss how journaling about the good, bad, and ugly can help identify the enemies in our lives – fear, pride, resentment, unforgiveness, and even depression – and how recognizing these "enemies" is the first step in overcoming them.

After unpacking everything, the real challenge begins: choosing what to focus on. In Psalms 23:5, we’re presented with the imagery of a table set before us by God, with enemies surrounding it. The enemies will do everything they can to distract us from the blessings right in front of us. When we focus on the enemies, the blessings fade into the background. But when we choose to focus on the blessing, the enemies shrink, and the goodness in our lives becomes clearer.

This episode is all about the process of choosing where to place our attention, how it influences our growth, and why it’s crucial for us to focus on the right things in order to unlock our best self. Tune in and discover how this simple yet powerful choice can shape your journey toward a better, more fulfilled life.

  • The Better Everyday Podcast | S2EP1 First Episode Back!
    Jan 20 2025

Welcome back to The Better Everyday Podcast where we are unlocking our best self one episode at a time!

In this episode, we are excited to kick off Season 2 of the podcast with a fresh new perspective, and we want to start by thanking everyone who participated in our recent giveaway. After taking a month off to rest, relax, and recharge—something we believe is essential for anyone’s healthy rhythm—we’re back and ready to dive into a topic that’s on everyone’s mind this time of year: New Year’s resolutions. As many of us know, January 1st can bring a surge of excitement and motivation, but by mid-January, most of those big resolutions start to fade away. Statistically, there’s even a "National Quitters Day"—the second Friday of every year—where most people abandon their goals.

But here’s the thing: January 1st is just a date. Every single day can be your “January 1st”—a fresh start to pursue your goals and dreams. We talk about how to stop making excuses, how to overcome setbacks, and how to build the character needed to truly go after what you want. Life will throw challenges your way, but the key is not giving up, getting back up when you fall, and constantly moving forward with a growth mindset.

In this episode, we encourage you to reflect on whether you have the character to pursue your goals or if you need to take time to build that strength first. Either way, don’t quit—keep going, because better days are ahead!

Thank you for being here and supporting the podcast. Let’s make 2025 the year we all get closer to our best selves!
