"Be Strong and Very Courageous" - Unlocking the Transformative Power of Speaking God’s Word

The words from Joshua 1:6-8, “Be strong and very courageous,” serve as the foundation for a life-changing teaching that highlights the transformative power of speaking God's Word over every aspect of your life. These verses are not just historical commands—they are timeless instructions that empower believers to walk in victory, no matter the circumstances. Today, we explore how the act of declaring Scripture over our lives brings about revolutionary change and sets us free from the chains of religion and ritual.

Speaking Scripture Over Your Life: The Key to Transformation

What happens when believers stop treating Scripture as just a text to be read and begin declaring it over their struggles? Revolutionary change. The Bible is more than a book—it is the living, breathing Word of God (Hebrews 4:12) that has the power to transform every situation. When we speak God's promises, they activate divine power that crushes sickness, breaks chains of fear, and opens pathways where there seemed to be none. Instead of accepting defeat, you begin to speak life over every challenge, allowing God’s Word to be your ultimate weapon in the spiritual battle.

Religious Rituals vs. the Liberating Power of God’s Word

Religious rituals can keep us bound in a cycle of duty and performance, but God’s Word offers the key to true freedom. This teaching explores the profound difference between religious systems that hold us in shackles and the truth of Scripture that sets us free (John 8:32). It’s easy to get caught up in traditions that don’t change anything, but when we begin to declare the promises of God over our lives, we tap into God’s divine power to bring real, lasting change.

The Spiritual Battlefield in Everyday Life

The spiritual battlefield often mirrors our everyday struggles—financial worries, health challenges, relationship difficulties, and persistent fears. In the midst of these challenges, God’s instructions to His people remain steadfast: “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth” (Joshua 1:8). This command isn’t a suggestion; it’s a blueprint for success. By speaking Scripture daily, you activate a divine strength that helps you overcome obstacles with confidence and courage. Speaking the Word of God over every situation empowers you to walk in victory and trust that God is always at work in your circumstances.

Practical Ways to Saturate Your Life with God’s Word

The key to unlocking the power of God's Word in your life is consistency. We discuss practical ways to saturate your life with Scripture: listen to the Bible during your commute, play it while you work, and meditate on God’s Word day and night (Psalm 1:2). This is not about legalism or religious duty—it’s about aligning your heart and mind with God's perspective. When you fill your life with His Word, your thoughts, attitudes, and actions begin to reflect His truth.

The Power of Communion: "It Is Finished"

The message reaches its pinnacle with a powerful communion service, reminding us that when Jesus declared “It is finished” on the cross (John 19:30), the curtain of religion was torn in two. No more barriers between you and God—only direct access through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This act of communion signifies the end of religious rituals that distance us from God and the beginning of a relationship with Christ that gives

The Profound Distinction Between Religion and True Faith: A Biblical Understanding of Salvation

Understanding the profound distinction between religion and true faith is foundational to grasping the essence of salvation in Christ. While religion often creates systems of rituals, laws, and requirements that bind the soul, Jesus Christ offers something radically different: true redemption through His blood, which sets humanity free from spiritual chains (John 8:36). In this episode, we explore how true salvation is not about outward observance, but a personal relationship with the Savior.

The Four Cups of Passover: Unveiling God’s Redemptive Framework

Our exploration begins with Exodus 6:6-7, where we uncover the four cups of Passover—sanctification, deliverance, redemption, and praise. These four cups represent God’s redemptive plan, established long before modern religious systems or movements. The third cup of redemption holds special significance as it was during the Passover meal that Jesus referenced this cup in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:28), marking a pivotal moment in His sacrificial mission. Jesus' words resonate deeply, for He transforms the Passover meal into a powerful declaration of God’s plan of salvation and redemption.

The Revolutionary Conversation Between Jesus and Nicodemus

In John 3:3, we find one of the most transformative conversations in Scripture, where Jesus tells Nicodemus, a highly respected religious leader, "You must be born again." This conversation challenges the religious framework of the time and exposes the heart of salvation: spiritual rebirth. Nicodemus, representing the religious establishment, struggled to understand what even the simplest believer could grasp through faith—true salvation is a work of the Spirit (John 3:5-6). This exchange between Jesus and Nicodemus highlights the tension between institutionalized religion and the life-changing reality of a relationship with God.

The Three Gardens: A Journey Through Humanity’s Spiritual History

As we continue, we journey through three pivotal gardens in Scripture that mark humanity’s spiritual story: Eden, where humanity first fell (Genesis 3:6), Gethsemane, where Jesus wrestled with His impending sacrifice (Matthew 26:39), and the tomb garden, where salvation was completed (John 19:41-42). Each garden represents a shift in God's redemptive plan—from fall, to struggle, to victory.

In the Garden of Eden, the first disobedience brought spiritual darkness into the world, and in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus took on the weight of humanity’s sin. However, in the tomb garden, the empty tomb signals victory over sin and death, proving that God’s redemptive plan is fully realized through Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).

Egypt: A Paradox of Darkness and Divine Protection

We also explore Egypt, which, throughout Scripture, symbolizes a place of spiritual darkness and oppression. Yet, it is in Egypt that God protected and nurtured the infant Jesus (Matthew 2:13-15). This paradox of divine intervention reveals a beautiful mystery: God can position redemption even in the midst of darkness, demonstrating His sovereignty and power over every circumstance.

Moving Beyond Religious Systems to Embrace the Redeemer

In today’s world, the question remains: Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life (Revelation 21:27)? Whether discussing Lenten traditions, denominational practices, or modern religiou

  • 4. Jesus Faced Fear. - (PBC@04)
    Mar 7 2025

    Send us a text

Did Jesus experience anxiety? The Garden of Gethsemane offers a profound, rarely discussed moment in the Bible where Jesus faced overwhelming fear. His soul was "sorrowful unto death" (Matthew 26:38), a deeply human experience that shows His struggle with anxiety as He anticipated the suffering that lay ahead. This moment of fear and distress is a key part of understanding Jesus' human nature and how He can relate to those who suffer from mental health struggles.

In this moment, Jesus’ dual nature—fully human and fully divine—creates a powerful tension. While theologically, Jesus is "the image of the invisible God" (Colossians 1:15), He is also deeply human and experiences the psychological distress that comes with fear. The Gospel of Luke 22:44 describes Him as sweating "drops of blood," a rare condition known as hematidrosis, which occurs during extreme emotional or physical stress. This medically documented response shows that Jesus truly understands human anxiety.

In the Garden, Jesus prayed earnestly to God, asking if the "cup" of suffering might pass from Him (Matthew 26:39). This shows Jesus' humanity, wrestling with the fear of suffering and the desire to avoid the pain ahead. But despite His fear, He ultimately chose obedience: "Not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). His surrender wasn't an easy acceptance but a surrender through agony, acknowledging fear while choosing love.

This moment offers great comfort for anyone struggling with anxiety today. Jesus, the Creator of the universe, knows what it’s like to face overwhelming fear and emotional turmoil. Whether it's dealing with relationship struggles, financial pressure, or health challenges, we can take solace in the fact that Jesus understands anxiety on a deeply personal level. He faced mental anguish in the Garden and chose to submit to God’s will, showing us the way to move forward in faith and surrender.

The "50-50 Garden" concept helps us see Jesus’ human and divine struggle—He was 50% human, fully experiencing the fear of suffering, and 50% divine, knowing the eternal consequences of His sacrifice. His obedient surrender in the face of anxiety reveals the power of perfect love to cast out fear (1 John 4:18). True peace doesn’t come from denying anxiety but from drawing near to the God who understands and walks through fear with us.

In your moments of anxiety or fear, remember that Jesus walked through the Garden of Gethsemane to show us the way. His example teaches us that we don’t have to hide from fear but can face it with faith, knowing that Jesus has already walked through the worst for our sake. By trusting in His love and obedience, we too can experience victory over fear.

Unshakable Faith - Embracing the Power of Small Faith in a World of Uncertainty

Welcome to this empowering episode with Reverend Ben Cooper, where we explore the transformative power of faith in our daily lives, especially in the face of uncertainty and life's challenges. Drawing inspiration from the powerful parable of the mustard seed, shared in Matthew 17:20, we discuss how even the smallest faith can move mountains. In a world filled with political, financial, and personal crises, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged. But the Bible reminds us that faith, no matter how small, has the potential to do the impossible through God’s strength.

In this episode, we delve into Isaiah 53, which beautifully prophesies the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, reminding us of the hope and healing we can experience through Him. By reflecting on Christ's profound love and His sacrificial death, we gain an understanding of how His sacrifice is the foundation for our faith and provides us with unwavering hope. This reflection will resonate deeply with listeners across the globe, whether you're facing a personal trial or longing for spiritual renewal.

Through impactful testimonies of miracles, recovery, and divine intervention, Reverend Ben shares how people from different cultures, backgrounds, and nations have experienced God’s transformative power. Stories of healing, financial breakthroughs, and spiritual restoration offer tangible evidence that God is active in the world today. These testimonies serve as reminders that, no matter the circumstance, God is always present and ready to intervene in powerful ways.

    The Power of Small Faith

It’s easy to feel like our faith isn’t enough, especially when life’s challenges seem insurmountable. But in this episode, we remind you that faith the size of a mustard seed, as Jesus taught, has the power to move mountains (Matthew 17:20). The greatness of our faith is not determined by its size, but by the greatness of the God in whom we place it. This truth brings comfort and assurance, particularly for those who feel like their faith is too small or insignificant. Through God’s power, even the smallest act of faith can lead to profound transformations.

Biblical Insight: Jesus said, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20, NIV). These words remind us that no situation is too big for God when we place our faith in Him. No matter where you are in the world, God is capable of doing extraordinary things with your faith, no matter how small.

Prayer is the most powerful tool we have to strengthen our relationship with God and build our faith. James 5:16 tells us that “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” In this episode, Reverend Ben encourages you to pray boldly, trusting that God listens and responds to the cries of His people. Prayer isn’t just about asking for help—it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s will and opening ourselves to His divine guidance.

    Growing Your Faith Globally

In today’s fast-paced, globalized world, distractions and hardships can make it challenging to remain focused on God’s promises. Social media, societal pressures, and personal trials can pull us away from the path of faith. However, this episode calls you to look beyond the noise and focus on the powerful and unchanging truth of God's Word. Whether you’re in the bustling cities of Asia, the peaceful countryside of Africa, or the busy streets of North America, God’s Word transcends cultures and

However, there’s a transformative message from the Bible that offers hope and guidance when we feel like we're sinking. In this latest episode, Reverend Ben Cooper draws inspiration from the Gospel of Matthew, focusing on the profound story of Peter stepping out of the boat in faith and walking on water. This pivotal moment not only demonstrates the power of unwavering faith but also highlights the importance of keeping our focus on Jesus amid life's storms.

We discuss how, in a world filled with distractions, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by societal pressures and religious constraints. Yet, by actively listening to God’s voice and turning to Him for divine guidance, we can experience true peace and healing. This episode is not just about reflecting on Peter’s story, but also about reclaiming what’s been lost in our own spiritual journeys.

In this insightful episode, we embark on an eye-opening exploration of Lent's global significance in the Christian faith. Although traditionally known as a period of fasting and reflection, Lent holds diverse meanings across cultures and Christian denominations worldwide. The question we tackle is bold: "Is Lent a necessary spiritual practice, or merely a man-made tradition?" Reverend Ben Cooper leads us through a compelling discussion on the biblical roots of Lent—or the absence thereof—and how this historical practice has developed across various Christian traditions, approximately six centuries after Jesus’ sacrifice.

We challenge our global listeners to reflect on the true role of Jesus Christ as the sacrificial Lamb, a concept that transcends cultural differences and remains central to Christianity worldwide. The blood of Jesus, symbolized in communion, is not just a tradition but a core biblical truth that connects Christians of all nations, reaffirming our faith and relationship with Christ.

In this episode, we dive deep into spiritual growth through fasting and prayer, two practices central to Lent but often misunderstood. How do fasting and prayer connect us with God, and how are they expressed globally within Christian communities? From North America to Africa and Asia, these spiritual practices serve as tools for strengthening faith. We invite listeners from around the world to ask themselves: Are we adhering to biblical truths, or simply following cultural practices?

This conversation pushes us to rethink the essence of Lent—to move beyond human-made traditions and return to the teachings of Jesus Christ, which have remained unchanged across time and geography. Whether you're in the U.S., South America, or Southeast Asia, the message of Jesus' sacrifice transcends borders and calls all Christians to a deeper walk with God. By focusing on the biblical roots of Lent, we open ourselves to a spiritual awakening that unites believers worldwide in pursuit of authentic faith.

We challenge all Christians globally to reflect on the role of Lent in their lives, and how these biblical practices can foster spiritual growth. Through the lens of Lent, we invite our listeners to engage in authentic relationships with Jesus Christ, whether in traditional observances or personal reflections. Let us turn to the core teachings of the Bible, rather than merely following traditions shaped by culture and time.

This episode will help listeners gain a better understanding of how Lent is observed around the world, and how the practices of fasting, prayer, and communion can lead to a deeper connection with God and one another.
