  • Unresponsive: The Hidden Hormone Problem
    Apr 17 2025

In this episode we jump in and address why someone can have optimal levels of hormones on labs but still not see or feel the results of "so called" optimal hormones. Unfortunately, the majority of people get prescribed hormones and yet the provider does not address: 1-Why their hormones were low to begin with and 2-What can prevent hormones from finding their landing/receptor site on the cell... essentially making them less effective, even at an optimal dose. The net result... people having hormones that are normal or often even high normal but still have all the same damn symptoms that led them to go on the hormones to begin with. Initially, they may see a month or two of mild to moderate benefit and then this eventually goes away because all the ways our Landing sites for hormones get beat up and less efficient, goes overlooked and forgotten.

I do believe hormone replacement has a time and place in optimizing health and when done with an approach that appreciates the full song and dance and how hormones work and interact with the cell, they can be incredibly beneficial.

In this episode we dive into 10 Ways Receptors for Hormones and be damaged or impacted. Now for the most part, the majority of these are due to our lifestyle and to our environment...essentially meaning we can do something about it when we understand what might be holding your hormones from reaching their landing site to give you the benefit you are anticipating.

This story is all too common and our team of providers see this all too often.

I hope you enjoy this episode and the educational content of it. Please if you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and connect. #hormones #weightgain #functionalhealth #functionalmedicine #brainhealth @healthwealthultimateself

  • Breaking the Barrier: The Science of Leaky Gut
    Apr 8 2025

In this episode on Gut Health, we dive deep on the the importance of a great functioning gut, what's is normal and what happens when it starts to break down and become problematic. Most commonly known as leaky gut, intestinal permeability is the more accurate and the term that will help track down better research on the subject matter.

Many try diets, detoxes but do they truly address the enough of the stresses that lead to leaky gut? The truth is many do not and so it is a repetitive cycle of attempts to solve the issue. The key aspect to the anatomy of the small intestine that determines if the gut is leaky or not is referred to as Tight Junctions and Tight Junction Proteins. This is where zonulin comes in...a hormone that regulates the tight junctions.

In this episode we detail all the common and well know triggers to zonulin and leaky gut, from dietary to medications to brain based mechanisms.

We discuss what can happen if this becomes chronic and goes uncorrected, leading to many issues and diseases well outside the gut.

The goal of this episode is to walk you through what is normal, what are triggers that take you away from optimal gut health, how this can lead to chronic systemic inflammation and how if uncorrected can lead to bigger health issues more widespread than the gut.

We hope you enjoy the episode. Please if there are topics you would like discussed, be sure to comment on our IG @healthwealthultimateself and we can plan future episodes to cover your specific topics or bring in guests specialized on that topic.

  • The Power of Mindset: How to Build Habits & Elevate Your Circle
    Mar 19 2025

We’re Back! Kicking Off Season 3 with Energy, Insight & Transformation

We’re thrilled to be back for Season 3, and we’re not just returning—we’re coming back with inspirational energy and more than just healthcare knowledge. Too often in healthcare, we focus solely on giving medical advice. We listen to patients, but are we truly hearing them? We miss the deeper reasons why they struggle to reach their goals—why they start implementing a healthier lifestyle but fall off after a week or a month.

This episode is about launching into Season 3 with momentum and getting our community fired up to achieve their goals for the future.

Fresh from Unleash The Power Within, the incredible four-day event led by Tony Robbins and his amazing team, I’m bringing you valuable insights gained from this powerful experience.

In a world filled with stress, fear, and anger, it’s more important than ever to tune in to your heart and soul—to the energy that truly resonates within you. I share my personal journey over the past year and how patterns don’t have to define us forever. They simply need to be recognized, understood, and released when they no longer serve us.

I dive into the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people—those who support your dreams and vision rather than dampen your flame.

And we explore how this all ties back to healthcare—how providers can do better in understanding and supporting patients beyond just the physical. Too often, healthcare is rushed. Patients feel unheard. Providers assume patients don’t want to make changes. But what if we took the time to recognize the underlying patterns driving their behaviors? What if we helped open doors to solutions that instill the lasting habits patients are looking for—but just don’t know how to implement?

Me and the team are honored to serve you this season! We hope this episode is the start of an empowering year—one where you realize you are truly capable of achieving anything you dream of. Sometimes, it’s just about reconnecting with the vision in your soul and stepping onto the path toward it.

Life happens FOR you, not TO you.

  • Writing Your own Success Story in Health and Business: Lessons from a Serial Entrepreneur and Mindset Expert
    Oct 3 2024

In our latest episode, we dive in with serial entrepreneur, author, mindset expert, and biohacking enthusiast, Rob Coats. Rob has a contagious energy that easily uplifts those around him.

I first met Rob back in July during a trip to Fort Lauderdale for a health conference. I was immediately drawn to his positive energy and mindset. The more we talked, the more I realized we shared many similar passions, which eventually led us down the path of discussing biohacking and peptides.

In this episode, Rob shares his journey—from growing up in a home where he had to share a bedroom with his siblings to becoming self-made and purchasing a 20,000-square-foot home. What makes his story even more inspiring is that this was his very first home.

As we started our conversation, I learned that Rob is also the best-selling author of the book Connect and Grow Rich, which he published in 2006. Eighteen years later, his book is still available on Amazon and in Barnes & Noble stores if you're interested in grabbing a copy.

Rob is humble yet confident, and more importantly, he listens to those he meets. The more I talked with him, the more I saw how deeply passionate he is. He’s someone who not only learns from his mistakes but keeps his head up and stays focused on his "why." Rob shares how he's lost and made eight figures three times and continues to focus on his purpose, celebrating the small victories that lead to big goals.

Rob and I also discuss his latest passion and project in the health world, where he's on a mission to help as many people as possible optimize their health through peptide therapy and implementing a foundational lifestyle. Earlier this year, Rob realized his health had become a blind spot and was faced with the reality that he needed to take ownership and make necessary changes. After all, "Health is Wealth!" Rob didn’t just make a few changes; he went all in, digging deep into the causes behind his lab results and leaving no stone unturned when developing a plan for positive change. Now down over 40 pounds, if you follow Rob on social media, you'll see that he practices what he preaches—both in health and mindset.

Our discussion could have gone on for hours, as Rob's passion is worn on his sleeve, and he constantly shares valuable insights on mindset and connection. Before we wrap up these show notes, I want to leave you with a few gems and takeaways from our conversation and encourage you to listen to the full episode for more.

Rob T. Coats' 2 Ways to Get What You Want:

    1. First, you must add value to the relationships you build.
    2. Find your connection’s passion and help them fulfill it.

3 Essentials to Success and Happiness:

    1. Love yourself unconditionally first!
    2. Master your health.
    3. Enjoy all the steps in the process, not just the outcome.

    Daily Focus:

    1. Be mindful of how you phrase your sentences—your subconscious is always listening. For example: "I get to go to the gym today" vs. "I have to go to the gym today."
    2. Know your "why" and build your day, week, and life around it. Live in alignment with this.
    3. What are you doing for personal development each day?

Positive Mindset Mentors/Resources Rob Has Used Along the Way:

    1. Jim Rohn
    2. Eric Thomas
    3. Wayne Dyer
    4. Stephen R. Covey
    5. Tony Robbins
    6. Les Brown

I hope you enjoy and absorb the energy that Rob T. Coats brings to this podcast, and that you find ways to adjust and improve your health and mindset. It's safe to say we will likely have future episodes with Rob, as we had to force ourselves to conclude a conversation that could have gone on for hours.

    Until next time,

  • QEEG Testing and Neuro Feedback and Its Role in Health and Brain Optimization: Featuring Sandra Hooper-Murcott
    Jul 30 2024

In this episode, we host and interview Sandra Hooper-Murcott, founder of BraintrainDFW and an educator with more than 20 years of experience. We dive into the Braintrain process, from the initial brain mapping using QEEG to the implementation of Neurofeedback sessions.

We discuss the wealth of data that a QEEG can reveal. Before partnering with Sandra and Braintrain centers, I was researching QEEG software and equipment due to the valuable, non-invasive information it provides. QEEG offers baseline data on brain activity across various regions and the software compares this to normative data for each age and brain region.

We explore how they use QEEG data to formulate a game plan and implement Neurofeedback tailored to the patient's specific brain needs. They see significant improvements in symptoms related to anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia with their approach.

Naturally, we had to learn what inspired Sandra to open Braintrain centers. We delve into her process of founding and opening her first center and how this has expanded into multiple centers across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

We hope you find our discussion on brain health, the value of QEEG testing, and the benefits of Neurofeedback therapy insightful.
