  • Therapy Dole Whip, Feral Childhoods, and the Disney Generation Gap
    Jul 14 2025

In this episode of Hangin’ at the Hangar Bar, Scott and Candice get personal—and a little generational. From late-bloomer Disney Adult origin stories to Sunday nights with The Wonderful World of Disney, they explore how Disney fandom has evolved (and exploded) across Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.

This one’s got everything: VHS tapes, spring roll cart loyalty, Disney Channel deep cuts, Splash Mountain discourse, park rituals, Instagram snacks, and that one time the Country Bears caused memory loss. Along the way, they reflect on how each generation experiences the parks, what we value, and how fandom culture has shifted with tech, expectations, and churro-induced outrage.

    🧩 In This Episode:

    • Disney origin stories that start way past age 5

    • The good, the bad, and the “omg why” of social media in the parks

    • Gen X feral childhoods vs. Gen Z phone navigation mastery

    • Park rituals: matching shirts, rope drop, and Main Street windows

    • Disney as a space where all generations can still feel like a kid

    • Found Disney as an adult and are still making up for lost time

    • Are nostalgic for both paper FastPasses and the Disney Vault

    • Wonder if the next generation has figured out the story—or just the ride queue

  • Great Moments in History… But Only the Podcast Parts
    Jun 30 2025

In this episode of Hangin’ at the Hangar Bar, we take a look back at one of the smartest, funniest, and most underappreciated live shows Disney has ever done: Great Moments in History (But Only the American Parts)—the Muppet-filled masterpiece that used to liven up Liberty Square with a mix of chaos, charm, and Sam Eagle’s booming sense of patriotic duty.

We unpack why the show worked so well, speculate wildly about why it disappeared, and debate whether something so clever could survive in today’s Disney (or cultural) landscape. Spoiler: we get a little spicy. From cost-cutting to crowd control to the inevitable reality that people love to ruin nice things—we don’t hold back.

We also pitch some reimagined versions we’d love to see, including Sam Eagle delivering nightly fireworks reviews with the seriousness of a national security briefing.

Audio Note: We had a Great Moment in Microphone Failure during this one. While AI did its best to clean it up, it definitely left its fingerprints on the entire episode. It’s listenable—just not our cleanest. Thanks for sticking with us, even when the tech gets a little… revolutionary.

  • Dust, Drama, and Disney Change: A Frontierland Deep Dive
    Jun 23 2025

This week on Hangin’ at the Hangar Bar, Scott grabs his metaphorical saddlebag (and his very real AI co-host, Dusty Trails Bot) for a solo deep dive into the dusty, disappearing corners of Frontierland at Walt Disney World.

We’re talkin’ Big Thunder Mountain, Country Bear Jamboree, the now-closed Tom Sawyer Island, and the retired Liberty Belle Riverboat—each with its own story, legacy, and charm. But it’s not all just frontier nostalgia—Scott also explores what’s replacing these classics, including the controversial addition of Piston Peak National Park, inspired by Planes: Fire & Rescue. Yes, really.

Expect laughs, lore, a little light grumbling about IP choices, and a heartfelt look at how storytelling is changing inside the most iconic theme park in the world.

If you’re a fan of goats with dynamite, bears who sing showtunes, or just wondering what happens when you give aviator goggles to a national park… this is the episode for you.

  • Unpopular Disney Opinions? Hold Our Dole Whip.
    Jun 9 2025

Hey there, Hangar Bar regulars! 🍹

In today’s episode, Scott and Candice dive headfirst into the wild world of Reddit’s Disney Parks Unpopular Opinions—where the takes are spicy, the logic is questionable, and the tiki torches are metaphorical... mostly.

We’re reacting to a whole lineup of hot-button park opinions, including:

    • Is Paint the Night...overhyped? (We haven’t seen it, but why should that stop us?)

    • Are The Muppets out of touch with younger audiences—or is this take pure blasphemy?

    • Did Under New Management actually improve the Tiki Room? (Spoiler: no.)

    • Has Disney become too coaster-happy?

    • Should Hall of Presidents be packed up for good?

    • Is guest nostalgia what’s really holding the parks back?

    • And why we’re fully on board with skipping rope drop in favor of sleeping in.

    • Plus: the impact of endless hard-ticket parties, and a reality check on Magic Kingdom crowd levels.

This episode is part unfiltered rant, part love letter, and 100% Disney adult real talk.

  • REWIND: Things at Disney That Make Us Go ICK
    Jun 2 2025

    Happy day, Hangar Bar friends!
We’re bringing back a fan-favorite from the vault today — one that sparked a lot of opinions, laughs, and just a little bit of side-eye.

In this episode from April 2023, we dive into our Disney Icks — those little things in the parks or Disney culture that just make us go “BLEEEEHHHH.” From rides we can’t vibe with, to ants in drinks, questionable food habits (yes, we see you eating off trash cans), and even some behavior from fellow guests — nothing is off limits. We even detour into an unexpected (and slightly dark?) discussion about fireflies. You’ve been warned.

We got passionate. We got opinionated. And we probably icked a few of your favorites (sorry, not sorry?).

💬 What are your Disney Icks? Let us know what makes you go “why is this a thing?” in the Most Magical Place on Earth. Hit us up on Instagram, Facebook, or Reddit — we’d love to hear from you!
