  • This is another older episode recorded two years ago. I'll upload one from this year soon. What are the politics of respect? Who deserves respect and who instructs us as to who should be respected? Many in the upper echelons of power views us as entitled, disrespectful brats that are lazy and ungrateful for all our betters have done for us. They say that we are bad for asking them to contribute to things like the welfare system and infrastructure, that we are being unfair to them by demanding that they think of others than themselves. Every psychopath thinks in this way, and it is no secret that psychopathy and power go hand in hand, much like mash potatoes and gravy. For all the maturation my leftism has gone through over the years, all the changes of opinion on the success rate or even value of protesting, and all the grimacing I have done while watching the left utterly sabotage whatever little credibility they had left by mercilessly and constantly attacking, not republicans, but Democrats for some strange reason I still don't understand and never will, I still very much believe that the wealthy should pay taxes. I actually believe they should pay far more than they already do. Their giving to charity only ends up in the hands of certain individuals that they deem "less fortunate". That should not be left to their discretion. They should not be able to decide that a person with autism is "less fortunate" than a person with epilepsy. That doesn't make any sense. Both people in that equation are unfortunate and deserve the same amount of help. However, the way the system is designed now, the only people who get the help they need are what I like to call people with "flavor of the month problems". Autism is in right now. It won't always be. The rich will grow weary of that crusade, just as they grow weary of every crusade, and abandon autistic as well. But right now autism is having its moment in the spotlight, and really no one else is getting any help. It's rather depressing really. Why do you have to be sick to get help anyway? And why is it that certain illnesses are considered more deserving of help than others? What kind of Hunger Games bullshit society is this? What do I have to do? Transition to a woman so that I can develop breast cancer so Bill Gates will give a fuck about me? That seems a little crazy. And that's why I argue for more aggressive taxation of the rich because the truth is they only care about certain people, generally people who share problems with family members of theirs. That's no fair. It's not equal. Everyone deserves help, even healthy people. Why should we punish people for being healthy? Don't we want people to be healthy? But it's almost like you have to be dying in America for people to even give a fuck about you. I don't think that's the society that the founding fathers set out to create. In fact, I know it isn't. It has nothing to do with it, and it's weird that we allow private organizations to decide where and how that money gets spent. It's also weird that tax write offs are given for being charitable. You're literally bribing rich people to donate to charity. Why are we doing this exactly? They already have money. They don't need any more money. It's insane. All I'm saying is that these are the people who are calling you lazy and entitled when you say you would like some help. They're a bunch of people who are running legal tax scams to profit while at the same time looking like the saviors of humanity. And we're the entitled ones? What gives them the right to call us that when they're the ones demanding praise for running legal tax fraud? You can call me entitled all you like. I am still going to push to tax your ass, and the more you call me entitled, the more I'll advocate for it. Aw, poor Elon Gates Bezos can't afford another convertible. Who cares? Good! You have enough stuff! That's the point. This episode is called "Entitlement". Take the title and shove it up your end.
