  • Ep. #187: Somatic Healing While Coming Out Late, w/Special Guest Lynn Fraser, Part 2
    Jul 4 2025

Can somatic healing help us on our coming out late journey? Check out part 2 of this week's episode where Robin discusses somatic healing and its benefits with somatic healing expert Lynn Fraser. If you missed part 1, you can catch it here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/coming-out-late/id1589128068?i=1000714770443

In this episode, you will learn . . .

    • What effect has the HIV/AIDS crisis had on the closeted and ‘out’ LGBTQ+ community?
    • Healing from shame and guilt: learn how to regulate our own nervous system; come back into awareness of our own humanity; breathing and somatic inquiry; connection in community like our Coming Out Late Community, and building a strong mind and resilient nervous system.
    • Shame is just another part of our nervous system. We are meant to have an intense experience with shame because the purpose of shame  was to stop us from doing something that will get us kicked out of the tribe.
    • Every culture  has taboos of what you don't do. If you do that, you're gonna get kicked out. Utilize somatic inquiry and ask ourselves: When do I feel shame? What are my experiences with shame?

  • Ep. #186: Somatic Healing & Trauma While Coming Out Late - w/Special Guest Lynn Fraser, Part 1
    Jun 27 2025

How can somatic healing help us on our coming out late journey? In this two-part episode Robin discusses somatic healing and trauma, and its benefits with somatic healing expert Lynn Fraser.

In this episode, you will learn . . .

    • What is somatic healing?  Trauma is stored in our bodies as sensations and energy with associated memories, thoughts.
    • How can somatic healing help us on our coming out late journey?
    • Why we’re uncomfortable to go back into our bodies and feel?
    •  We discuss the question: “How can I become more aware-of and familiar-with the sensations and energy in my body?”
    • When inquiring within our bodies,  we can: welcome the sensations and energy in our own body; get to know ourselves on a very deep level, and that our nervous system is always trying to protect us.
    •  Somatic Healing has everything to do with being comfortable and knowing what's going on in our body and we, we can release and heal the stored trauma in a safe way by doing that.
