All that life experience prepared Marshall for the day when, at fifty-one, she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, just one lymph node from stage 4. Overnight, her life changed, but her commitment to serve others did not.

You’ve Been Chosen offers what Marshall calls “the good, the great, the bad, and the ugly parts” of her journey through both cancer and everything that led up to it. Along the way, she tackles the tough questions we all face: What will I do with what I have been given? How will I respond to challenges with both grace and grit? Thank you for telling your story

This real life story came at the perfect time. I feel that the Lord is preparing me for a trial, no clue what it could be, but none the less. I also have two friends about to start chemo for stage 3 colon cancer. This book resonates well and has given me many reminders of how I can encourage others.

Best read/listen in a long time

It’s cliche to a point but this book led me to laugh, cry, and shout Amen. I picked it up after her interview on the Started From The Bottom podcast and it was definitely worth it. There are so many nuggets of knowledge here that it should be mandatory reading of some sort.

Her story is most inspiring and it demonstrates togetherness and love! She pushes through tough times but continues to love hard and most importantly she trusts GOD!
