Or does she leave, leaving her heart behind as well?

Twisted Dexter-Type read

The book plays on the idea of 'good' and 'evil' and provides complexity with flawed love, tragic events, emotional baggage, trust issues, and a curiosity for the feeling of belonging.

The book's characters are not only written as well-rounded but the actor pulled a lot of punches creating different voices and accents for the characters. Highly impressive!

Though this book isn't exactly my cup of tea genre wise I am glad I listened to it because it was quite interesting.

Go ahead, I dare you to listen to it, too!

Intriguing story enhanced by narration

The story and dialogue quite course to my taste, especially when dialogue has strings of profanity. Very interesting and fanciful action story, with great narration with myriad voices and sound effects from Eowyn Sky.

Great story with a stellar narration!

I thoroughly enjoy this story! Action packed with memorable characters in a very cool supernatural world. Eowyn's narration took this book to superior level! Her performance made the images pop just like I was watching a movie! She needs to narrate this whole series!

Fun, Adventurous Story, Superb narration!

Story: Very engaging and entertaining! The author presents the story from alternate viewpoints at certain times that adds to the richness of the plot. The characters are realistically flawed and relatable. I enjoyed the challenges and adventures that the characters faced, and the storyline kept me engaged and interested. I now want to listen to Heller’s other two books. Note: The story contains adult situations and language, and parents may want to preview the story first.

Narration: Eowyn should receive an Oscar-equivalent Audible award for her narration! Her intonations, voice inflections, and accents were impressive. Eowyn narrated the voices of both female and male characters with a consistent and entertaining voice. The story included a wide variety of characters and dialogue that Eowyn delivered with the talent of an actress. It made me wonder if the reading was directed by a professional or if Eowyn was just naturally gifted. I would love to listen to other narrations that she’s done!

Action-Packed

I would have enjoyed this book far more without so much profanity. The strong storyline and amazing character portrayals by the reader did not need it. The narrator brought scenes to life - all those voices inside of one person!

Entertaining

The voice talent, Eowyn Sky, elevates this novel from mediocrity to something a little bit special. You can tell she's enjoying the book, and really breathes life, energy, and emotion into every scene. And though I didn't particularly enjoy the story or grow attached to the characters, I was entertained, and to Heller's credit, I do find myself intrigued to know more about this world and thinking about it days later. Keep the same talent for the next one, and I'm in.

Favorite of the 3 so far!

I listened to these out of order since the second book was the only one available on Audible at first, but in case that happens to you as well don’t worry because it really doesn’t mess anything up since the books focus on different characters and their back stories, although I would still suggest going in order if you can. I really love the characters the author has created for this series! Each book has more action than the last & personally, I’m quite partial to Maddox because she’s a badass & really funny, so there is even more witty humor in this book! I personally like it when a narrator does different character voices because I think it really brings the story to life! The author definitely gets better and better as they go with this series so I can’t wait to read the next installment!
