Jane Bancroft has returned to Lovett, Tasmania after 20 years away, minus one ex-husband but plus one outraged teenage daughter. He knows a key ingredient to success is a unique homegrown flavour: Jane's mother Thea, crowned Apple Queen of Lovett and the cantankerous guardian of the legendary recipe for apple snow. But the charm offensive he’s launched on Thea is not the only reason he's keen to spend quite so much time with Jane.

Between her mother's bitterness, her daughter's escapades and the struggle to rebuild a her life, helping Lovett’s new golden boy with his grand plans are not Jane's priority. But Drew's enchanting persistence is making Jane realise that mending old wounds and a homegrown romance may in fact be the only way to start a fresh new chapter.

The thing about Minnie Darke…

The thing about Minnie Darke is that I never want her books to end. This one is just as lovely as the others. Yes, a romance, but with so much more depth than that. Engrossing! Loved the earthy voice of the narrator too, it was perfect for this story.

An enjoyable listen, a compelling plot and an interesting background context!

Really enjoyed the characters, the way all three generations of women were portrayed and interacted with each other, and the Apple storyline was so charming!

Sweet Story

There were many sweet messages within the story here about mothers and daughters and I appreciated it very much. The narration and storytelling was beautiful 🍎

Excellent Listen

Listened while waiting for next credit.
This was a very enjoyable, straight forward tale. I’ll look at listening to more by this author.

Definitely keeps the listener wanting to find out what’s coming next… a delightful and favorable ending:-)

Slow, depressing, bad narrator

Tough to get through. The content is about a sad sac heroine and her sad sac family whose patriarch was dealt an unfair blow to his livilhood that the family never recovered from. In walks prince charming, but the heroine has bern beat down so much she can't appreciate anything, possibly have hope or goodness.

I really think that the book wpuld have benefitted from a better/ different narrator. This one's voice drives the dark and depressing tone even in the potentially uplifting parts.

I just couldn't get through it.

The reviews were good, so I thought I would give this a listen. I’m so glad I did because it was so enjoyable and I really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the book.

Sweet and crisp

Lovely second chance story for romance and mother daughter relationships . Giving ourselves grace as a parent is so hard!
