Fantastic second chance romance!

The sparks are flying in Whispers and Wildfire, book four in the Haven Brothers series and oh my gosh, this second chance romance story definitely didn’t disappoint! Luke has been a bit of a mystery since we met him back in the Bailey Brothers series and I was so excited to finally have his story! He and Melanie had something special years earlier but they were young and mistakes and misunderstandings broke their bond, but now Melanie is back in Tilikum and it seems the one person who hurt her in New York years earlier has found her again and brought danger and havoc to the small town. One of the best parts of this small town romance is how all the towns people come together when one of their own is in danger.
I easily fell for both Luke and Melanie and thoroughly enjoyed their journey even with all its ups and downs they proved that true love can prevail!
I also had the added benefit of listening to the audio version of this story and the narrators did an amazing job that absolutely added to my enjoyment of this book!

Another amazing story written by Claire! It feels like I've been waiting for Luke's story since Fiona first met him in Unraveling Him, and I'm not disappointed in the least! Whispers and Wildfire follow Luke Haven and Melissa Andolini and how they reconnect after years apart. I love Melissa and Luke's chemistry and bickering, it makes every interaction a surprise because you don't know what is going to be said.

Luke and Melissa dated when they were in high school and something happened and they broke up. Melissa moved to LA to pursue a career in acting. Something happens while she's there and she ends up moving in with her boyfriend and gets married. 10 years later she is now divorced and moving back to her home town of Tilikum where she runs into Luke almost literally.

Luke has his classic car restoration garage and he has picked up racing again but he believes he's happy with his life until he sees her again and she starts showing up everywhere he is.

Once they stop fighting long enough to explore their explosive chemistry they realize that they still love each other and that there was a big miscommunication when they dated in high school. But something is happening in the community.....women are being taken by someone who leaves no evidence behind except for releasing the women he's taking. But something about the abductions reminds Melissa of what happened to her in LA. When she gets taken as well Luke and the Squirrel Protection Squad have to find her before the wildfires in the area spread to make rescuing her impossible.

Whispers and Wildfire is book 4 in a standalone series and is recommended to read in series order but can be read without reading the other 3 books. The narrators did such an amazing job! 5⭐ and 3🌶️

Do I want to move to a town with hot men, crazy squirrels and an unbelievable supportive community? Absolutely!! This is probably my favorite of this series!🥵🥵

Couldn't love it more!

I couldn't possibly love this book more! It was small town, second chance perfection!

There wasn't a single time while reading where I doubted that Luke and Melanie belonged together. They were completely perfect and believable. I loved their banter, and their love story had me swooning! It really is second chance done right.

I also adore this small town. It's the perfect balance of quirky and welcoming that makes me want to pack my bags! I loved checking in with the other characters from the Haven family as well as the crossovers with Claire's other series. It isn't necessary to read each series, but it made my heart smile when we would run into people we already knew.

The suspense in this book is perfect. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and was resolved in a completely satisfying ending. The only thing I was left wanting was more. If this series was complete, it is definitely one I would binge, but as it stands I will have to settle for rereading until the next release.

The narration was done perfectly. They completely captured the emotions and the personalities of the characters, and I loved it. I will definitely listen to this one again!

I have read a lot of Claire Kingsley’s books but this one is my favorite! I love the story line, the suspense, and the ending!!

I love Luke and Melanie!

I think this is my favorite in the Haven Brother series so far! Luke and Melanie are absolutely on fire. I loved seeing Melaine with her family and the families together. Melanie's pickle obsession makes me giggle. But Luke's insistence to have them for her always makes me swoon. Luke's protectiveness makes me giddy and I absolutely adore them. Ugh I just adore them!

I loved the chapters from the perspective of our bad guy. It adds such a layer of intensity.

And as always being in Tilikum feels like coming home. I want to be part of the SPS!

Another super-fantastic, riveting, keep you on the edge of your seat, who-dun-it, happy ending love story by one of my favorite authors, Claire Kingsley.

Melanie is a thirty-something voice actress living in Seattle. She has just gone through a divorce with her cheating, early mid-life crisis suffering ex-husband. She is struggling to pack up what's left of her life from their house and move back to her hometown of Tilikum.

Luke Haven is one of the too hot for his own good Haven brothers. He owns a successful custom auto shop, he has a great family. So why is he so restless that he has to resort to something dangerous from his past to make himself feel something?

Things at work are super busy for Luke. Add in that his regular office manager is out on maternity leave and her replacement doesn't show up more often than not. He needs help! In a twist of fate, his former high-school girlfriend, Melanie, is back in town and needs a job. But can they tolerate each other?

With time, Luke starts to remember why he liked Melanie so much and Melanie's feelings start to return too.

Too bad there is someone waiting and watching in the wings to take what they've long thought was theirs.

I cannot recommend the audio of The audio of this story enough! The narrators are superb and having a third voice for the villain is such a great addition. It makes takes the audio to the next level.

Voice characters absolutely entertaining!

Well Done! Bravo! This Haven book was well worth the wait! Voice characters were absolutely entertaining due to the additional layer of animation and literary characters. There was a plot twist layer provided by the different voice characters and it was absolutely intriguing. I loved how it helped in the darkest moments. And I’m a retired elementary school teacher who loves children’s literature so the epilogue was just fabulous!
