Outstanding book

This was an outstanding book to listen to. The narrator was on point. The knowledge of guns and tactics was great and I will get more books.

Lots of action!

This is a great series and keeps getting better.

Great characters and character development. This is an action, spy, espionage thriller book, if you like that genre you will like this series. Fast paced story too.

The Narration is superb. Ray Porter is perfect for this genre. He does a great job on all the female voices, his accents are great and everyone gets their own distinct voice. Amazing! Brings the book to life!

Just as good as the first one

While I'm not a fan of "impossible" mission successes, this one shines as believable and possible while still holding you in a tense grip.

Recommend this book to those who like suspense and action. The twist at the end was a nice touch.

Outstanding

I love that this, the second book in a series, was even better than the first. John Dempsey is a great character with lots of depth. He's damaged but not broken, ruthless but empathetic. He's a problematic mix of paradoxes that make him a great stone-cold killer when the need arises, yet he still maintains his humanity along with that innate desire to protect.

As John finds himself once again chasing the madman who changed his world in a horrific way, he's determined he won't let the terrorist out of his sight until he's dead. A tough road lies ahead for John and the other members of Ember as they're forced to make decisions no one should ever have to make.

I am all in for this fast-paced, action-packed adventure series.

Glad i stuck with it

When i began the first book in this series i was a little put off by some of the “over the top” machismo” but then i realized that i might have ignored that had i been watching the same scenes in a movie. I continued to listen and reserved my judgement until i had finished the first couple chapters. I’m glad i did. I quickly became enthralled with the plot and development of the characters. The continuity moving from the first book into this one was excellent. I’m hooked.
The performance was excellent also. It’s easy to slip back into a story when you hear the vocalizing of familiar characters.

Major awesome alert!

read quite a few of the major thriller series (jack, Ryan, Amos, decker, Pike, Logan, etc., etc.), but this is quickly become my new favorite right up there with the Scott harvath series
