Acerca de esta escucha

Will some people be eternally lost? Or will God save everyone? Can a Christian be biblically faithful and believe in universal salvation? In this clear, easy to understand book, Curt Parton examines the scriptural and theological foundations for our traditional view of hell and the case for universal restoration. The eternal conscious torment of the lost isn't nearly as biblically certain as has been thought, and the belief that all will be saved is surprisingly robust scripturally and theologically. Which view is more biblically sound? Which understanding is most in harmony with the gospel?

A growing number of believers are rediscovering the historic Christian belief that God will ultimately reconcile and restore all of his creation to himself through Christ. What does it truly mean for God's love and truth to completely triumph over sin, death, and hell? This book explores the reasons Christians believe what they do about hell, what the Scriptures actually say about hell and judgment, the arguments for and against each view, and how this all relates to the biblical character of God. Discover why many believe God won't relent Until the Last One's Found.

Universal Reconciliation from a Biblical standpoint

I had been looking for a book about Universal Reconciliation which focused solely on the scriptural basis. As someone who studies Philosophy of Religion from an agnostic perspective, I’d read four books prior to Parton’s which mainly focused on philosophical arguments with some theological included. Two of my favorite authors on this subject are Thomas Talbott and Robin Parry. It’s clear that Curt Parton has high admiration for both.
I was pleased to find this book dedicated to examining the scriptures for and against Christian Universalism. Curt Parton does not disappoint! I appreciate how he lays out the differences between Armenians, Calvinists and Universalists and what scriptures they use to argue their positions. He does very well steelmaning each one. I was raised in a Pentecostal Assembly of God denomination and left the faith in 1999. I returned for a few years after my parents converted to Calvinism (Reformed Baptist - 1689 London Baptist Confession) in 2005. While I found the Reformed tradition to be more Biblically sound, I just couldn’t truly accept that view of God. Many years later after discovering my deep interest in Philosophy of Religion, I wanted to learn what Christian Universalism teaches as it was misrepresented, possibly misunderstood by the denominations I was familiar with. Highly recommend this book for those who want to focus on the scriptural basis for and against Universal Reconciliation / Christian Universalism, and those who may not be as philosophically inclined or wish to hear that form of argument. I believe that Universal Reconciliation is the only logically coherent version of Christianity. A God that is not only all loving but truly sovereign over all.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough! Buy it, read it, and buy 2 more copies to give away.

For some years I have been looking for an introductory book I can readily give to evangelicals on Ultimate Restoration. I wanted one that provides a solid overview and convincing case for Ultimate Restoration (UR) from a scriptural, theological and historical basis. While there are excellent books available on UR, they are not ones you can readily give to the average evangelical pastor or church member.
This book fills that gap perfectly. The books structure is very well thought out and Curt’s style of writing (and reading if you get the audio version) is gently persuasive.
While the book is very easy to read, it still contains enough exegetical and theological force to tackle the core issues and convincingly demonstrate the case for UR.
I am so taken with this book that I have already read it, purchased 2 copies to give away and downloaded the audio book!
