I was just a simple blacksmith apprentice when a visit by the mages of Essalin confirmed what I’d long suspected—I could touch the aether. likable characters, lots of action, and for me, a lot of references to trivia i get.

The RUSH to the end.
This series is very entertaining, but the last few books tend to rush towards an ending.

too many continuity errors. especially in the latter chapters. for example, the number of combatant Hardy had to fight on the lander when it was stated only 14 or so were on board.
