complex, creative, and current

This story weaves the narrative around an archeologist, Diana, who finds herself in a tough position but determined to do the right thing. Chris and his Seal Platoon go to save her not once but twice. Once back in DC, there paths across again, which turns into a race to protect her and find out who is after her and why. The story is so action-packed that there are few places to stop without wondering what comes next. A really great set of notes from the author at the end. I would have preferred the male narrator have a little more inflection, but that is my personal opinion.

Smart & Brave Protectors

Both of these characters are smart and brave and dedicated to protecting the things they hold dear. This is a wonderful blending of other series and promises more to come.

Engrossing Story, Great Narration

The story was great! loved the characters and the plot was fast-paced and kept me intrigued and interested. The narration was great. Both voices fit the MCs very well, although Greg could do with some work on his female voice.

Another hit

I absolutely love listening to Rachel Grant’s books. Her books always have some real information. I always learn something about archaeology. The sexy moments are really good too. Also Nicol and Greg are wonderful narrators, their voices snag my attention every time.

again a wonderful and twisty story with lots of tension by Rachel Grant... I did feel like the romance took a bit of a back burner (not by a lot), which will be something some people will like but I always like the romance to be the central theme:).

Another one out of the ballpark!

I have long been a fan of Rachel’s, and her “Evidence” series is my favorite. That she combined characters from other series for this book made it all the better. Her characters are intelligent, resourceful and multidimensional and Rachel is certainly not stingy in her locales. The Middle East continues to be a draw for intrigue

Gripping

This audiobook was wonderfully narrated by Nicole Zanzarella and Greg Tremblay. I had to listen tothis book straight through because it was action packed, fast paced and gripping. The storyline was compelling with wonderful characters with mystery and espionage. There were the appropriate steamy scenes as needed. I highly recommend this book.

Another Home Run!

I am a huge fan of Ms Grant's work. I re-read Cold Evidence, Before the Storm, Into the Storm, and Catalyst in anticipation of this new novel 😍

Anyways, this is a fast-paced story. We get to know Chris Flyte a bit better (from Into the Storm) and we're introduced to Diana. Hot damn! Their chemistry sparks off the page. A few twists and turns later and we encounter Morgan Adler and Freya Lange from the Flashpoint series. Two seriously kick-ass women. Gasp! And Ian Boyd (from Covert Evidence) just showed up 🥹 and mentioned he's now married to Cressida! This is the best nod to fans of Ms Grant's work. I love when characters from her other novels/series appear!

This novel can be read as a standalone... but why would you when you get a glimpse of Pax (from Tinderbox, Flashpoint #1) with his daughter in a mermaid costume? I definitely need more Cal and Freya. Freya is so awesome. So glad to see her in action and kicking ass. Now... can we speculate that book three will be all about Rand and Kira?
