In my quest for truth and a settled purpose to follow the leading at any cost, I have found it necessary to change my beliefs. Although somewhat reluctant to abandon my previous and naturally more pleasing doctrines, I have found the present view of truth of much greater spiritual value.

This writing is intended to be a call back to the cross. The cross of Christ is everything. All redemption centers in the cross. Only at the foot of the cross are sins washed away. There we are cleansed and sanctified. Apart from the cross, no hope; at the cross, eternal salvation.

Although this writing deals with doctrines and discussions about the Church and about Christ, it purposes to help all fix our gaze on the Crucified One until we are inspired to become truly cross-bearing Christians.
In view of what has been written, we conclude with the hope that above all the doctrines that have been discussed, the most important impression will be its appeal to a whole-hearted return to the way of the cross. Then we shall see what Christ can do for and through us on our way through Tribulation to Glory. H. A. Baker
