This audiobook includes the entire Zulu Virus Chronicles series in one boxset. Tons of chilling, post-apocalyptic thriller action and suspense.

Something insidious has arrived - right in the heartland of our nation, turning neighbor against neighbor!.

Dr. Lauren Hale, a new hospital resident, is nearly killed by a raving mad emergency room patient, in a senseless, unprovoked attack.

Officer David Olson, veteran cop and former Marine, returns from a father-son camping trip to discover that his ex-wife has vanished under bizarre circumstances, and his police department is on the verge of collapse.

Jack and Emma Harper, a young, upwardly mobile couple, find their hip city neighborhood rapidly descending into madness.

Dr. Eugene Chang, a research scientist for a major pharmaceutical company, makes a shocking discovery that might explain the spreading wave of illness and violence gripping the city. Eric Larsen, leader of a top-secret, rapid-response unit, circles high above the Midwest, in an unmarked military transport. Mission still unknown, his team waits to parachute into the night.

Within 24 hours, complete strangers from different walks of life will be forced to join together to survive the living nightmare that has been unleashed on their city - and their country.

This is their story.

Welcome to the Zulu Virus Chronicles!

I'm well into the second book in this trilogy and am exhausted with all the military, shoot-'em-up action. I thought this was going to be much more thoughtful or at least much more centered on a virus plot line. I'm returning it.

Get to the point!

My first audio book and it was awesome! Thank you to Steven Konkoly for an phenomenal story, and to Charles Hubbell for top notch narration. I wish the story was longer! Thanks again, I'll be looking forward to more work from both of you!

Superb!

Didn’t review it at the time I read it went back later to do it. Was a good book.

Good Book

I really enjoyed Book 1. The plot related to various characters surviving a town falling apart due to a bio weapon attack, and the people who are trying to do the right thing was fascinating.

Then, books 2 and 3 showed up; and most of your favorite characters either disappear or have nothing to do. The story becomes one military engagement after another with little pacing. Also, you know how the first book slowly revealed information into the attack itself? That basically stops altogether after book one. What an unsatisfying trilogy.

Just read book one.

Books 2 and 3 are a real letdown

Awesome series of books. Not predictable for the most part. Rarely has 20 plus hours passed this fast for me.

Awesome series of books!!!

I really enjoyed the story, the story telling and the characters in this trilogy. Top notch. But this was the first time that I struggled with some of the writing and narration in a Konkoly book, after reading (and listening to) many of them.

With the entire series based in Indiana, the author would have been well served to spend a couple weeks there, doing some basic research. If he'd done that, he'd have known that NO ONE there refers to highways using "the" as in, "the 465", which is used over and over in the series. That's a west coast thing, and doesn't happen in the Midwest. Carmel Indiana is pronounced CAR-mul, not car-MEL... another west coast thing that was mistakenly attributed to the Midwest. As a reader (listening), I frequently caught myself saying, "What did that character just say??"... that was distracting.

As to the narration.... the country-ass southern drawl that was used for many of the characters was totally out of place for a story based in Indianapolis. Listening to those accents, it would be reasonable to believe it was Mississippi or Alabama. Those accents were as misplaced as it would have been in making one of those tough soldiers in the story sound like a west coast valley girl.

This was a GREAT story, but the misses in the speech patterns, regionalisms and accents became distractions that made me wish I'd enjoyed this story in print rather than audio book.

A great story... but there's a "but"

The story is very good, I’m enjoying it through two books so far. BUT..... the narration is ridiculous. The guy reading the story gives characters voices that are a cross between extreme stereotypes and Sesame Street characters. I was fighting to pay attention to the content of the story in spite of the narration. It’s really that bad. He narrates a 17 year old kid as though he were 12, and he makes another character sound like Kermit the Frog. There’s a military character named Ochoa that he makes sound like a member of MS-13. Just because the guy has a Latino last name doesn’t mean he has to have an extremely stereotypical accent. If you can find a version that doesn’t not have Charles Hubbell as narrator, I would recommend it.

Good story, HORRIBLE narration

Loved the story and it kept me interested the whole time! But I am sick and tired of all these authors that only have “he said” “she said” “said, said, said” in their vocabulary. What about “replied, acknowledged, stated, screamed, pointed out, wondered, etc.? How hard can that be?! Such a rookie move.
The narration. Was incredible. It was one guy who did about 20 different voices! Unbelievable. I need to listen to more of his books. He’s amazingly talented! Loved him.

Best narration EVER! Finally a book that keeps you engaged! With one issue...
