Wonderful tale of highland magic

A bit hard to understand at the outset, but you get used to the brogue. What an enchanting and riveting tale!

the accent at the beginning is really thick. don't let it deter you. it's a good story and the thick accent eases up pretty quickly into a smooth read. loved the story. on to book 2 now.

I honestly couldn't stop listening. Slowly the story sucked me in in this amazing thrilling world. The accent of the narrator fitted the story really wel and she was lovely to listen to.

Fantasy, magic and dragons

I chose this book primarily because it deals with dragon and magic and because the narrator is Scottish and gave the whole story a very special and charismatic touch. The book is nice, but a bit too slow in some parts: I would have preferred a bit more about the characters themselves, but all in all a nice story to hear.

Fun listening

I really enjoyed listening to all the adventures, but, there was no cohesive connections from one group to the rest! Then the ending was a disappointment, because it was just a continuation and nothing was concluded!
Sorry, but even though I enjoyed the short adventures of the different witches , their stories were just abandoned! What happened to them?
I really enjoyed the accent of the storyteller, but overall I feel like I wasted my time and my money on this one!

Highly Satisfying!

I really enjoyed the book. The overall story is not necessarily a highly unique or original. But its a very well written high fantasy. And there are some really interesting stand-out parts, like the healing boy chapter. Also, likable characters, esp female protagonists. Interesting magic. Good action that isn't fighting - it gets my blood pumping without stressing me out. If you're looking for your next fantasy series that will engross you, this one will do the job! I will definitely be finishing the series.
