Acerca de esta escucha

In the bestselling tradition of The Silence of the Lambs comes The Tower, a novel of nail-biting suspense and heart-stopping terror played out in a psychological battle of wit, cunning, and pure evil between a diabolically clever killer and his determined hunter.

Allander Atlasia is an infamous psychopath whose heinous crimes have earned him a lifetime stay at the Tower (nicknamed Alcatraz II), the world's most extreme maximum-security prison. But after a brilliant and brutal escape, the criminal mastermind begins a killing spree that is intensely personal - one by one, victims fall prey to a twisted and chilling re-enactment of his own depraved past.

Jade Marlow is an ex-FBI profiler and tracker whose fearlessness is only surpassed by the severity of his own inner demons. With a record of irrational behavior and a genius for putting himself into the mind of a criminal predator, he may be the one man diabolical enough to catch Atlasia. In an escalating contest of wills and wits, two equally defiant men race toward a showdown where daring is deadly and failure is fatal.

Excellent read and not for the faint of heart.

I really enjoyed this book. It was very brutal and violent and if you shy away from that then this is not for you. The first part of the book, set in The Tower, is great in its imagery. What happens after is a great crime/detective story. I do not want to give much away but suffice to say this is a very suspenseful crime drama that is well narrated. Would be a great gift for Guys on Father's day lol.

The Tower was gruesome.

I like all of Gregg’ Hurwitz’s books. But this one was way too gory for me.

Great book

This is a favorite. I read it back in high school. Now, more than 15 years later, I listened to it and enjoyed it just the same.

Amazing Connection Between Characters

Every minute of this book gave me the satisfaction an action enthusiast needs. The detail and connection between characters defines what is needed to feel satisfied by an ending.

Hurwitz at it again.

This is a good ride. Exciting here and there but predictable turns leaves a little disappointment in the overall book.

Not for the faint of heart

I’m not a prude. I love thrillers, crime fiction, violence and swearing doesn’t phase me. But when it comes to mental torture or hurting children that is where I draw the line.
The first couple of hours during the prison scene was profoundly entertaining, full of harsh prison creeps and violence.
After the prison scene I was subjected to callously terrible and horrifying scenes of children subjected to kidnapping and witnessing the gruesome deaths of their parents, in detail.
The detail is what bothered me. I just couldn’t bare that. I returned it. Too bad! Everything else was stellar!

Wish some dates were given

Sometimes I wish authors would give a few more dates for. Timeline, I had to look up when the first publication was done then it made much more sense. I wanted to shout many times 'doesnt anyone have a phone?!?’ So the fact that it’s 25 years old makes a bit more sense. But I love his writing and the narration.
