What would you do if your sister were being beaten and abused every day? Standing only five-feet-four-inches tall and twenty-six years old, June Garrett is tough and fierce. She is a smart but impulsive laborer, working at her father's construction company, and she is as serious about her day job as she is about having fun and running the rodeo circuit on the weekends. Since her mother’s death fifteen years before, June has become fiercely devoted to her younger sister November, who when she was young and naïve, married a mascupathic monster Jake, who is just waiting for his wife to inherit the family farm, their share of the company, and insurance money. The girls' father, Sam, is in deteriorating health, and when he dies, June is left in complete care of his estate and money. Jake’s hope for his wife’s inheritance is shattered, and November’s husband unleashes his frustrations and fury on first June, and then his wife, nearly killing the latter. In the aftermath, June must decide she must decide upon which side of the thin gray line between justice and the law her actions will be. Either way, the lives of the Garrett sisters will be changed forever.
