Best Dating Book I've Read

Where does The Tao of Dating rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I am not a huge audiobook connoisseur, but I have listened to enough of them to appreciate the unaffected American accent this book is read in and the overall superiority of the content of the book itself. I do read a good number of personal development books, metaphysical and philosophical/scientific stuff as well, and I was very impressed at how well the author wove together ideas from mysticism to rank and file scientific data in an interesting, easy-to-follow and enlightening way.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Tao of Dating?

Really well-presented exercises. Also, the breakdown on how to recognize different "types" of men and the kinds of experiences each might be able to provide was very helpful. I especially liked the 100% non-judgmental tone of the book and the feeling of open-mindedness I sensed was behind the intent of the book. In other words, I felt it was written from the point of view of helping the listener define for herself what she wants in a "fulfilling" relationship and does not assume she's looking for a husband, a mini-van and 2.2 kids--although if that were the listener's goal, I feel this book would help her select based on what would actually be fulfilling for her within those circumstances rather than just getting the "menu" without getting the actual "food" (an analogy offered by the author). There is a really nice "core values" exercise I felt was very enlightening that supports this a great deal.

What does Ali Binazir, MD bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It felt like I was hearing from a guy friend or relative, which I liked. Also, some of the visualization/guided meditation exercises are really great to have on audio.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I was interrupted because I had to go out to meet a friend--which was cool because I was able to see myself already integrating the information I received from the book when I was out on the town that night. I finished it the next day then started a second listening.

Any additional comments?

I am thankful that I found this well-written, well-researched, deep-yet-practical dating guide. I have lots of dating/relationship books on my bookshelf, but this is probably the only one I wouldn't be a little embarrassed to have someone see me reading. Very well done. Smart and helpful. Highly recommend.

Very Thorough

Narration lacked expression and put me to sleep quite easily, but I did appreciate that it was the author himself. Informative, thorough, and highly recommended to all women.

What made the experience of listening to The Tao of Dating the most enjoyable?

I have listened to this book all the way through at least 4 times now and have skipped around and listened to certain sections countless times. I've been divorced a little over a year now after 12 years in an emotionally abusive marriage so I had a LOT to learn about dating again and a lot of negative self talk to work through. Every time I listen I pick up new information so I really feel this will be an ongoing reference book for me and brings value to my life even outside of just dating. It has opened my mind to what I truly value in a relationship and even how my marriage probably failed. Over the years I carried too much masculine energy from being a successful woman in business and growing a career in a male dominated industry. That has probably been one of my biggest takeaways has been understanding the polarity between the yin and yang (feminine and masculine) energies and when to turn one or the other up/down. My first few months of dating BEFORE I found this book I always found myself leading with my financial and career success because I felt it differentiated me from other good looking women because let's face it there are a lot of good looking women out there and a lot that are younger, fitter and more beautiful than me. What I didn't understand was that men may have respected and admired that about me but it did not increase their attraction to me. It ultimately made them feel challenged by me which was never my intention. When attracting a man, this book has helped me understand what I bring to the table in a relationship and as a female partner. I have very strong feminine qualities that men love and this book helped me foster and further develop those. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things this book has opened my eyes to but how about you just go ahead and download it and find out for yourself how much value it will bring to your life. Don't wait another day. Seriously. Get it and watch your dating game take a major step in the right direction.

What does Ali Binazir, MD bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has a great voice and keeps it interesting. I was never bored and often listened on long road trips.

I recently ran into a dating dilemma that I have really been struggling with and messaged Dr. Ali on social media for his advice. To my absolute surprise he responded back with some great input. I am going to listen to the book again and see what new info I can pick up now that I'm in a new stage of dating (an actual relationship). I'm a fan for life and will tell every single woman I know about this book!

Excellent content and delivery. Great sources and examples. Because the book has exercises I will either go to the website or purchase a physical copy to make it easier to do the exercises and look up the references. A+

Terrific

I listened to this book almost straight through. The information discussed and provided was applicable both for dating but also for general living.
He reads slowly and clearly which helped with the delivery of the information and the points he presented.
I very strongly recommend this book.

Really liked it

It is a very spiritual book, it has a different way of exploring being single and wanting to have a companion. It gave me a feeling of love and happiness. Very good book.

A must for start dating

I would have love listening to this book when I started being interesting in dating, more than 20 years ago.

Logical & Valuable Guidance to Transform!!

Would you listen to The Tao of Dating again? Why?

I bought Dr. Ali's book the first time it was on sale and I listen to it often. "Often" for me adds up to over 130 hours of listening time to date! I listen to Dr. Ali during my runs ... over and over ... in order to hear reminders and to listen for valuable nuances that I missed the first time(s)! I find the ability to jump to specific chapters to listen to the messages that I need (at that particular time) very helpful.

What did you like best about this story?

Overall, what I like best about Dr. Ali's audiobook is that I get to hear positive, no nonsense advice on dating / relationships. In addition, he makes sense and I really like that he focuses on being authentic.

Have you listened to any of Ali Binazir, MD’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to Dr. Ali on YouTube & tele seminars and he is equally dynamic and interesting to listen to. I can tell that he's doing the work he loves. His passion on the topic of dating absolutely shines through in this audiobook!

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Tao of Dating?

I learned a tremendous amount of valuable information from Dr. Ali's book!

Here are some of the highlights that I have benefitted from:
- a healthier approach to relationships
- how to *not* take things personally
- the importance of being clear on what I really want
- re-focusing on feelings of fulfillment
- the value of gratitude (and other approaches)
- how to get the attention of the guy I'm interested in
- how to *apply* what I learned about dating to my life
- and there's much more that I'm still working on.... :)

Non-native English speakers will find Dr. Ali's audiobook easy to listen to. He's articulate/easy to understand, not too fast and gives examples that illustrate the point.

Made a lot of sense. At first didn't think it could come from a man however it mattered more that he could understand the men better and gave great insight
