The more Chet and Bernie discover about Ralph, the more treacherous the job becomes, and soon they're fighting not only Big Oil, but also shadowy black ops figures, a violent biker gang from back home, and Iko- a legendary bayou gator with a seemingly insatiable appetite. Meanwhile, deep under the Gulf, the pressure just keeps building.

Chet & Bernie are a great pair-a nice light fun listen. Narration is superb. I've listened to all in the series .

Chet and Bernie are always great. This is an interesting one with lots of turns. Set in bayou country it has all the quirks that seem to live there. Chet has quite an adventure but he's the top.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend anyone listen to the whole series. Even if you are not a dog lover to start with, you will fall in love with Chet. The way he interprets the world is refreshing and often hilarious.

What did you like best about this story?

Chet in a totally new environment, with water, boats and alligators.

Which scene was your favorite?

As usual Chet becomes separated from Bernie at one point and I was glued to the headphones waiting to hear how it would turn out.

If you could rename The Sound and the Furry, what would you call it?

Let the Bone Temps Roll - since story is in New Orleans area but of course Bon Temps would have to be changed to Bone for Chet.

Any additional comments?

Jim Frangione makes this series unforgettable. I never even considered reading it on paper after I heard him narrate the first book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I've enjoyed all of the Chet and Bernie series, but this one is the funniest. I burst out laughing with some of Chet's comments.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Chet (of course). Spencer Quinn has captured what truly comes across as how a dog thinks. Chet is such a dedicated dog, and sees Bernie as perfect regardless to Bernies current state or actions. The voice Spencer has given him is one a dog lover can relate to.

What about Jim Frangione’s performance did you like?

Jim is great! He brings all the characters to life. When looking for a book to listen to - I look for books narrated by Jim. I know he'll make the story the best it can be.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I listen to on and off throughout the week to relax.

This is a entertaining series.

love this series. the relationship between bernie and chet from chets perspective makes you want to get to the next book!
