Mystical fantasy,fairy-tales and demon possession

Kotar delivers a fun and intense tale woven with threads of God-light, love, hate, temptation, demonic deception and redemption. Don't be mislead by the child-like beginnings. This book dives into deep and sometimes terrifying adult themes. Also, some of the narrator's characters are a bit overdone but don't worry, you'll get into the story and he does an amazing job with all the voices. I was totally engrossed by the storyline and am on to the second book..

Thank you Nicholas for all your time and heart that was poured into this wonderful story. My soul was lifted into the realms of Paradise and was also reminded of the true nature of our diabolical enemy. To interested readers, this is a true spiritual warfare manual encoded with fantasy language for your enjoyment. Open your heart and receive the teachings of the ancients.

Great book! I couldn't stop listening to it. I had high expectations due to a friends review; the book exceeded these expectations.

Loved the book, love the audio version even more

Kotar takes stories from Russian folk tales and the cosmology of eastern Christianity*** and uses them as a backdrop for an epic tale of a civilization's fall and the efforts of a few heroes to bring it back. I loved the kindle/print versions of this book (I've read them several times), but the audio version is even better. This is a story that is meant to be heard and the narrator does a great job bringing it to life. Well done, Nicholas Kotar and John Paton - you leave me wanting more!

*** The eastern Christian influences are not heavy-handed. It's similar to the way Tolkein used traditional Christian cosmology; which is to say ... AWESOMELY.

Epic story well told!

This is a fantastic story that masterfully weaves in bits of traditional Slavic tales into an entertaining whole! I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!
