awesome story and all if the short stories made it even better. Would recommend only if you know everyone involved with the Hersey...

every story was outstanding

the depth of back story and the holes filled in the story between 30k lore and 40k were amazing

Lots of questions answered

This stood out as a great story from all angles. The politics felt reasonable and interesting. The action was easy to follow and not absurd. Most importantly, the characters felt easy to separate, follow along with, and empathize with. This changed my perspective on a lot of what's happening on Terra.

best book of short stories in the series. 5 out of 5. will listen again.

You could start here and still have a great read even if you don’t understand 40k. Each book makes you think differently about what might be real or behind the scenes.

Some good moments but mostly drudge.

The moments with Malcador were top notch, I guess I should praise BL writers for their attention to detail covering stuff that should in many cases have been covered twenty or more books ago. Thankfully we’re getting it now, what would I have done if I didn’t know the details of the space wolves sent to observe the Night Lords?

Shadow War that the Sigilite has with the traitors.

Only issue I have is I hoped this would’ve been in chronological order instead of released date for each story.

compilation of great stories

liked the stories with liken in them. it fleshes out more of him which is nice my favorite character by far.

Overall great collection to fill in gaps

Well read and easy to follow narration. Good collection to examine the clandestine side of the conflict.
