Impossibly fine book!

They can pull the curtains down on Sir Terry's brilliant mind and, yes, eventually close his Book Of Days, but with this final work he takes hold and slams the lid down with a resounding thumping bang.
All down the decades that I've whiled away with his stories I've closed the covers on the latest masterpiece, wondering to myself, "How can he make each book more hilariously entertaining and insightful than the last?"
Good night, Sir Terry Pratchett, and thank you for enriching my life.

Near the top - and a good ending to a wonderful writing life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

ALL OF THEM! - If I must pick would be Tif.

Which character – as performed by Stephen Briggs – was your favorite?

Rob Anybody & Daft Willy

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Been tried many times and can't touch the way it is written.

Any additional comments?

Thank you for all you write - you will be missed.

Plenty fine

I've just finished listening to this a second time. It is a fine book period. It stands up to a second listen, and rereading it at the end of the series makes it better.

It’s plenty fine as it is. And it has the distinction of being Pratchett’s last book. The editor observed that if the author hadn’t died that the book would have been longer and more polished. Not his best, but a fine work none the less.

The End

This is a marvelous story and a sad but beautiful way to remember all the great stories by Mr. Pratchett. Thank you.

Sir Terry's swan song

This is a melancholy farewell to Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax and Tiffany Aching. Perhaps not his best work, and far too short (almost literally pried from his cold dead hands.

We have lost a master, and he'll be sorely missed.

I am so sad that this is over.

We must be grateful for the wonderful stories that we have, but I for one will always long for the stories we will never read.

As for a review of this book, it was wonderful.

A great sendoff

What made the experience of listening to The Shepherd's Crown the most enjoyable?

The vocal presentation was very good. A couple of times the story felt like a TV reunion, trying to bend the story line to fit in another character, but overall it was a very good book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Granny Weatherwax. I loved how she set things in order and left on her terms.

Which scene was your favorite?

Granny Weatherwax and Death. Very well done.

Any additional comments?

A very good "farewell". I will miss Terry Pratchett but rest assured I will reread his books over and over.

Bittersweet goodbye

As the last Discworld book the late Sir Terry Pratchett wrote, I knew that listening to the book would have some bittersweet quality to it. However the story itself is great and it even give a subtle goodbye from Terry, who at this point in his life knew what was coming. He spoke through the character of Granny Weatherwax, and then what happens after a certain event is told as the main story. As is usual for discworld novels; nothing turns out quite like you expect. That is a reflection of life however, and you leave feeling satisfied. The ending seemed kind of rushed to me, I feel like much more could have been written about the young man, still, it served the purpose of ending the story, and maybe this is just me not wanting to let go.

Stephen Briggs does a great job narrating all the different characters as usual, and I have come to expect his voice when I listen to discworld books.

A wonderful last book

Those who enjoy Pratchett will find this book a great addition to their reading experience. It still brings smiles and makes you think as his books tend to do. We will miss Terry but he left us a wonderful treasure in his books.

Well-performed final book of a delightful author.

I love the well-rounded world where the story takes place. Real enough to be believable but magical enough for hags and elves to be a part, too.
I love Terry Pratchett’s playful language, with characters such as Miss Took and Rob Ennibody. Written with help from friends as Mr. Pratchett was in his final illness, this book continued honorably his fanciful
tradition.
