Acerca de esta escucha

Sherlock Holmes is an unparalleled genius. Warlock Holmes is an idiot.

A font of arcane power, certainly. But he’s brilliantly dim. Frankly, he couldn’t deduce his way out of a paper bag. The only thing he has really got going for him are the might of a thousand demons and his stalwart companion.

Thankfully, Dr. Watson is always there to aid him through the treacherous shoals of Victorian propriety...and save him from a gruesome death every now and again.

Performed by Scott McCormick, Eric Messner, Patrick Bussink, David Jourdan, Matthew Keenan, Yasmin Tuazon, Jonathan Feuer, Bradley Smith, David Coyne, Steven Carpenter, Chris Davenport, Dani Stoller, Richard Rohan, Matthew Schleigh, Michael Glenn, Peter Holdway, Eva Wilhelm, Michael John Casey, Lolita Horne, Laura C Harris, Andy Clemence, Colleen Delany, Eleanor Todd, Jillian Levine-Sisson, Ken Jackson, Nanna Ingvarsson, Terence Aselford, Todd Scofield, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Mort Shelby.

Bravo!!

I absolutely LOVED this book!! Holmes apologists might not enjoy these tales but Scott McCormick in the role of Watson is priceless as he delivers the great deductions in this partnership as well as side splitting moments when he’s wrong! Brilliant job as well by the entire cast !!!!

good

I am a Sherlock Holmes fan. Not hardcore, but a bit resistant with this authors original. I really couldb't get into the original book. I have many Graphic Audio productions. Most of them add something to the originals. I gave this a try. The weird paradies are more enjoyable. It was fun comparing them mentally with Sir A.C. Doyle's chzracters and stories. I enjoyed it a lot. I recommend you give this a trial.

AMAZING story!

As with all Graphic Audio productions, the quality is worth every penny.

This book is an AMAZING supernatural parody of the traditional Sherlock Holmes stories. It's absolutely hilarious as well, I enjoyed every single minute and will be spending my credits on the other books. The scenes with Lestrade and Grogsson reminded me of Terry Pratchett's Watch series and my favorite part is when the book suddenly turns into a Western to tell the story of a heinous crime committed during the California Gold Rush.

Hilarious and brought me so much joy.

Laughed out loud several times at this silly book. Oh my goodness this was so good. The graphic audio edition is just genius too with its depictions and voice acting that leans into the silliness so much.

The characters had such great depictions of them too that it was so easy to visualize who was who and what everyone was doing. The writing was great as far as painting a good picture of the surroundings too, the sound effects by graphic audio obviously helped immensely with that too. It really did feel like a movie.

Humor is really subjective but this humor really clicked with me and the light hearteded feeling I got just smiling my way through these adventures were exactly what I needed. Im so thrilled to have stumbled on this series as I totally did havnt many expectations and glad I turned it on at a whim as this brought me so much joy.

Every expectation subverted but an authentic feel

Somehow the author has managed to subvert every expectation of every single character in The Holmes mythos and yet still have them occupy the same role that they would in a regular holmes story. I have heard that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle became displeased with his characters after writing them for so long, but I think if he were to see the story it might imbue him with some renewed passion for them.

I admit that the above statement might be arguable but I think it's true enough. G.S. Denning has taken the Holmes lore and turned it on its head weaving a masterful mythos that is equivalent to the writings of Lovecraft, Howard, and Doyle himself.

A Passable Parody

Fans of the Sherlock Holmes cannon will find much recognizable material here... possibly a little too much. A good deal of character names and plot(s) and even dialogue are lifted directly from the original stories and reframed slightly under the new paradigm and Supernatural circumstances. One big plus I will give it is that there does seem to be a plan for an over all (macro) narrative, where the original stories were generally haphazard and could be read in just about any order (within certain Eras at least (Era 1 being Study in Scarlet - The Final Problem, Era 2 Being From the Empty Hearse- The last story) Here there seems to be a set order and plan.
The Graphic Audio Cast and Crew However elevate this version and bring both humor and pathos that might have gone unnoticed or under performed in a single reader performance, and they get a BIG 5 stars.
I am interested to see where it all goes, so I will be continuing on to book 2.
