A series that gets better with each book

As lovely to read as watching a rose unfold. We get to know the characters gently as clever who-, how- and why-done its are revealed. The mind is curious and intrigued while the heart soothed and happy. I look forward to the next book/audio.

Love this series

While it's a little dry at times I really enjoyed the story and the continued character development of George and his father and police colleagues. As with the prior books in the series, there is plenty of police investigation detailed as the search for the killer plays out. I hope there will be another book coming soon! Oh, the narrator was excellent too.

Another gripping read

Very well written plot, intriguing level of detail with several parallel story lines that converge very well towards the end. Excellent narration from Findlay Robertson.

More Please!!

I'm absolutely loving this series. Only problem is I need more, as of now there are 6 books in the series. New narrator is good, but original narrator was able to distinguish the characters a bit bit more. Cross had a gravely coarse voice. I thought it fit his personality better. However, I'm still enjoying every minute. Keep 'em coming!

Plot Twists!

I'm so glad I came across this DC Cross book! It's layered, humorous and allowed me to clearly visualize everything that was happening as if I was watching it on screen. I enjoyed that there were other things happening outside of the main storyline.

Such well developed characters and plot - every detail accounted for.

Much preferred John Heffernan as the narrator. He sounds far more experienced and reads seamlessly.
DCI George Cross is so well defined with his quirky habits. Love the build up to the final realiz very satisfying when all the baddies are brought to book.

Great story with a twist

With this 3rd book, I am finally hooked-hope this series continues. Quirky, exacting and sentimental-it’s as fun to follow the detective, as it is the clues!

Can’t Get Enough

I just simply love this series, and with every book, I am more intrigued. DS Cross is such a fascinating character and I love how his mind works! This series is so different in that you do find the identity of the criminal before the book ends, but then you further are allowed into the mind of Cross, as he investigates and finds even more answers that the reader did not even realize needed to be found. I so hope Audible adds the remaining three books in the series to their selection! I have sent a request re this via email. The next book is called the Politician and I’m so anxious to get it. Highly Recommend this series. Excellent narration as well.
