Wonderful intro for kids before seeing the ballet
This telling of the Nutcracker story is well tailored for young kids. some of the music is shared, helping develop familiarity before a trip to see the ballet live. Lovely added tradition to our holiday season.

This is a lovely way to experience the story.
I really enjoyed this audio play and as someone who is just discovering an enjoyment of ballet it was wonderful to hear the story dramatized with the music by Tchaikovsky.

Loved it!!
For years I have been have been wanting to read the Nutcracker, specifically during the holidays. I just finished listening to it and I loved it. I liked it so much I will try listening to it with my son and try to follow along with the book.

An absolutely lovely performance
This is such a delightful and whimsical story and performance! I saw the Nutcracker for the first time during the pandemic when it was performed at virtually. I was thrilled to find this peron Audible, and will no doubt listen many more times during this Christmas season and for many years to come.

Well…
I liked that it included so much of the music. And it’s well-performed and produced. But the writing isn’t as good as I’d hoped. The beginning is kind of slow and repetitive and throughout it adds random new details. I think overall it would be a good intro to the ballet, but some of the differences could be actively confusing.
