Captivating read
I've enjoyed all of PT Deutermann's books. The subject matter is generally military, usually Navy, but the stories vary quite a bit. The protagonist experienced many of the major battles of WWII with associated adventures. I'll not tell more - you need to read this book!

Not what you might expect ...
PTD takes quite a tangent from where one might expect this story to go... And a most interesting tangent at that. Excellent narration as well. Highly recommended.

Pilots war with the Japanese!!
This book is told in the 1st person. It is a bomber pilots story of his life during the war with Japan. Is it another documentary on war? No it is not! This story will really surprise you. It is not what anyone will expect. Its a great story told through the pilots eyes. Not a plane book, not a soldier book, not a pilot book. It is a wonderful story of a mans life during the war with Japan, it is entertaining, well written, it has a surprise around every turn. If you looking for a new book to take a break with, this is it. Narration is well done and you feel a part of this entire story. Good Job! I loved it!
