I didn't figure out who done it.

story deals with an army Jag attorney and a civilian attorney representing a female soldier who was involved in atrocious Acts during her time in Iraq. The author takes a look at what factors contributed to the behavior . and then there's the Whodunnit which I didn't see coming. it's a book with a credit.

Duty Honor Country

Sacrifice is the word of the day. This story, showcased the talent of the author, and as the cost was under $10, such a great deal and entertainment.
Audible started with my fave Scott Brick, but went forward with Joe Barrett and it was such a pleasure to hear Joe perform Sean Drummond. My fave of this series Private Sector as the wit was bark out loud material.
Note: I do use the 1.25x speed to match the author’s intent.
This narrator is good, make no mistake, but he failed to give the Sean Drummond sarcastic flare that narrator Joe Barrett performed. Mr Lane did in fact perform the serious parts every well and did justice to this story.
This is worth your listening time.

Quite cliche..

The author had at times a refreshing and informative vocabulary and at other times a rudimentary one. The story itself was filled with cliche characters with expected personalities. Decent story, good reader though.

Good story

Like all other Brian Haig books, exciting and interested look into the world of the JAG corps. Personally, I liked Scott Brick better as a narrator. But Mr. Lane does a fine job.

Unheralded master of plot & dry wit<br />A MUST READ!!<br />

I have read every Brian Haig novel and each has had me chortling and sometimes foot stomping in laughter from the dry quips, politically incorrect, but always right on target observations. His characters jump right off the page, whole and endlessly fascnating. His plots lead the reader through unexpected detours, each illuminating his fabulous grasp of the human psyche and contemporaneous political issues. I was despondent to read that he would cease writing because the publishers wanted more sales. I hope he self publishes on Amazon, because there is not a greater talent out there with his truly remarkable and unique talent.

An intelligent and well written novel

I listened to some of Brian Haig's earlier novels a few years ago and enjoyed them. In the intervening years I listened to or read a number of other espionage, detective, and military novels, but what struck me about this novel, and Haig's work in general, is how sophisticated and intelligent they are. They are not mind candy or diversions from reality; there is no clear right or wrong, but shades of grey and the messy business of reality. Haig doesn't rant like some authors (Thor's recent work for example) yet subtlety illustrates for the reader/listener his point. Much more sophisticated and engaging. Great book, great author and well narrated. I hope Haig doesn't wait so long to write his next book.

A hearty "Welcome Back" to both Brian Haig and Sean Drummond. Where have you been? I have listened to every book by Brian Haig and I thought he was done writing. Then this book appeared as a Daily Deal. It is up among his best. It is topical with both humor and action. Keep 'em coming Brian.

Amazing!!

Is the only word that comes to mind. Loved every minute of listening to this book. I sure hope there is a follow up book. This is my 1st brain Haig book and I simply love it. I never give 5 stars to any book. But this deserves the best possible score. And man ohhh man Christopher Lane, the narrator is God good a very talented man! He conveyed emotions of characters better than any other narrator I've ever heard before! Thank u sir for narrating this book.

a bit long in some places, but sotherwise satisfying. lots of cynical humor. not at all a court story.

Very good

Enjoyed the story and the storyteller. It kept my interest peaked from the beginning! It was different from the books I am use to reading but very much enjoyed something different for a change.
