Historical fiction but very timely

Propaganda is not a thing of the past. Mathew learned the lesson of a lifetime. I enjoy the personal points of view format of chapters as well. We also need more books that talk about the impact of COVID on young people.

A great book, interesting and moving story with a major twist we didn’t see coming.

Very powerful story; learned new thing about history!

The story was very powerful. Not predictable in the way that a lot of children's books can be. I didn't know about the Holodomor before this and it was great to learn something new in history.

I had to read this book for a club at my school. At first, I dreaded having to read another book but this book changed my life. This is now my favorite book.
