Enjoy character development

I enjoy the storylines and the way the characters continue to develop. I also enjoy the epilogues that finalize the book.

Great stories

This series gets better with each book. The characters blossom as we see new aspects of their lives. DI Graham is a multi faceted man with deep convictions and deep pain. The stories are unique, especially the last one which is tense almost from the beginning. I’m glad there are more to listen to.

what can I say, can't get enough of DI Graham

Gotta love the Gorey Constabulary. I love figuring out the mystery along with DI Graham and the gang. Matt Jamie, of course, does a superb job. To the point that I forget it's only one person performing and not different people. The only fly in my otherwise contented ointment is stupid Freddie Solomon, I can't remember which book he makes his debut but I hope he makes his exit soon, and preferably as a victim. I absolutely loathe him and have to skip over a lot of his parts because he's so infuriating.

Excellent police procedural. Good description of characters. I enjoy the series. Stop requiring 15 words & you will have better feedback.

Books 5-7 continue to be entertaining

The mysteries are interesting, the crew at the police station are coming together nicely. the narrator is very good, hope to get the next collection soon.

The plots draw me in so well!

The characters and narration are excellent. Plots are interesting, snd it’s great to read several books at a time, so thanks for bundling them!

Book 6 The case of the missing Lady

This was a 3-book set. Books 5, 6 and 7. Book 5 was good. I enjoyed it. Book 6 however was an exercise in frustration. Book 6 "The Case of the Missing Lady" was replete with the most annoying cast of characters ever. Yes, They were the same characters as book 5, but their collective IQ's dropped drastically from book 5 to book 6.

A scientist is murdered.. But we do not get to hear that story.. because the DI cannot do proper time management nor can he delegate to subordinates.

The twice awarded constable Barnwell from the previous story, has the thought processes of a goldfish, and apparently cannot do anything on his own without his DI being right there with him.

DI is having a night off. The same DI who is a workaholic who never takes time off.. and he's finally got a night off. One would think his subordinates (who profess to adore this man) would block and defend people trying to interrupt his down time, But not Constable Barnwell, who thinks that the DI should be interrupted because someone wants to 'talk' to him. No Barnwell. You take a message. ... But that's not what happened. Barnwell interrupts the DI like its a matter of supreme importance he talk to the person. The DI interrupts his night off to go talk to the person. What was of such supreme importance? Some half baked dredged up story from 30 years ago. Really? It was a tedious plot devise to listen to.

Then the DI tries to go back to his night off.. But NO.. Barnwell interrupts his night again for a 'rescue' mission.. because apparently the twice awarded constable cannot do it alone. So there is the needless plot devise rescue that you have to wade through before we get back to the murdered scientist.

There are another couple of annoying characters, a blogger, the girl friend, and a 9 year old kid that all have to have their story told as well. Do they really have anything to do with the scientist? No.

Finally the DI has a murder suspect to interview.

Now we're getting somewhere.. I am ready for the story to progress.

Di is in mid-interview.. and YES you guessed it Barnwell interrupted a Murder-suspect-interview.. because there is a drunk guy at the town council meeting. Should a DI suspend the interview for a drunk? No. Except that is exactly what he does, because Barnwell cant go to the meeting and handle it alone. It beggars belief. What DI in their right mind would let a murder suspect go.. because of a drunk at the council meeting? A real DI would send a Sargent to handle it.

Do we ever find out what happened to the scientist? No we don't, because every character was either annoying, frustrating, or acted in such a stupid manner I could not finish the book. It was tiring and annoying to listen to. Give book 6 a pass unless you are the type to enjoy 20 minutes of filler for every 2 minutes of actual plotline.

Missing book 7

This series is supposed to be books 5-7. It DOES NOT include book 7. Same thing happened with Books 1-4 (missing book 4).
I love these stories. Very disappointed in the false representation of what I purchased.
