Helped me understand God better!

LOVED this book. I was so touched and humbled by the way Randy tells the stories of the bible. He reminds us that we are part of God's story! I loved the ending...how he painted us right into God's plan. Wonderful.

Excellent explanations for a better understanding of What God wants us to do and how to teach the stories in the Bible that are important and their meaning for our own ministry.

Fully two stories in one.

This is a well deserved read/listen. It definitely clears up some less than clear sections of the bible (Old Testament in particular). I particularly like the way Randy correlates similar modern day stories to show current relevance. I've read other material of Randy's and found him to be easy to understand, concise with a beautiful audio voice. Here's my only problem and the reason I gave his performance only three stars. He has a habit of letting his voice drop off at the end of the sentence. Often! Maybe 6 out of 10 times. This is significant! You find yourself straining to hear. And, if there's any significant background noise (lawn mowers, road noise, barking dogs, etc.) you have to turn up the volume higher than you'd normally want just to catch the last word or two. Perhaps recording with something that monitors the level of volume would be helpful. If it's problematic for you, I suggest reading the book.

Randy has not only the gift to put such meaning to God's words, but the gift of reading with a soft, meaningful voice. I have listened to this again and again and enjoy each experience as I absorb God's word. This book is truly a blessing to read and listen to.
