Reflective

As a product of the Civil rights movement....l was raised within some ancestral tradtitions. Hearing her talk about roots awakened memories regarding possible solutions for our life's challenges. Every family in the south knew about the "root" worker. More of my lived experience to share with my children.

A must read for African American Women

Loved it, this book helps black women tap into our African Spirituality by giving us wisdom which empowers us to make better choices. This book is eye-opening, powerful and necessary for healing the African American Woman Soul. Great narrator, her voice is relaxing, easy to follow, makes the book come alive! Thank you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful Work and Practical Applications!!!

Highly recommended read for everyone. There’s so many gems in this book. You never really finish because you have to pause, reflect and apply a lot! Very good if you are trying to heal yourself.

Hoodoo

The statement that hoodoo can be practiced by anyone. When it is a closed practice. So it can only be used by people with ancestry to slavery, or Black peoples.

Enjoyed the entire book which focuses on aa life closely linked to nature and African origins.

Covers many topics

It’s unfortunate many people will never hear the contents of this book because they read the title or looked at the cover and instantly placed a judgement. If you can get past that AND read it until the END you might be able to come across all of its helpful information.

I love this book and how it goes deeper in history than Sticks, Stones, Roots and Bones yet compliments the material deeply. I listened on Audible before purchasing a hard copy just to see if it felt repetitive but it is a book to have in hand. Highlighting and marking is necessary because you will return to the material.
