Elric is trying to heal, having been thrust away from his high visibility career after a fluke car accident. Everything changes though when he meets Amarah, who has lived in third-world countries and made her life about serving others. They are charged with working to improve the layout of a group home for teenagers in foster care, and through hard work with the kids, a major life lesson impacts him in ways he would have never expected. An internal battle is brought to a head when a new job opening is offered to him, but Amarah has already asked him to consider another project.
Amarah doesn't appreciate Elric's attitude and elitist point of view. Unfortunately, their meeting creates some major waves, and things begin to go downhill. Then, in a moment of clarity, she realizes that her actions are hers alone to control and needs to do what she came to do at Barco Bay. Some deep introspection and good conversations will heal a lot of wounds, but will the crisis worsen when the paparazzi run a crazy story about the two of them. After years in different countries, this is more than Amarah is equipped to handle.
