I wanted to write another book, but I had already yammered on about myself in two previous autobiographies, so it was time to mix things up.

The Cool Side of My Pillow is a collection of essays. Don’t let that fancy word fool you. I’m not trying to get highbrow or rant myself blue, but there are experiences and observations outside of the entertainment industry that I feel are worth sharing.

What’s it about? Mostly, things that matter to me, like putting in the effort, being honest, and not treating the environment like it’s the enemy. Is it self-help? I hope not, but you will find musings about fame, mysterious carvings, UFOs, and my general disdain of loud noises. Is it political? If it is, I’ll refund your money. There are no conspiracy theories in The Cool Side of My Pillow, just snarky humor and a sincere desire for us all to find peace on Earth.

I hope you like this book. It’s my first effort at “self-publishing”, so there won’t be any national book tour, marketing blitz, or glowing reviews to get your attention – just me throwing it out to the “Inter-webs” and hoping you’ll find it.

Excellent book with some more stores from Bruce Campbell. He touches on current events, bike riding, and Hollywood stories. His sense of humour makes the book a joy to listen to and craving more. Until we get the next part of his autobiography series this fills the gap nicely. Wait a go Bruce!

Short, but funny and engaging

Various scenes from the life of Bruce, narrated by the man himself. Assorted and unrelated, like snippets found on the editing room floor from the film that is his life. But delivered in his classic style, with irony and panache, and thoroughly entertaining.

Bruce is the king!

My husband and I listened to the audiobook and we loved it. We are big fans of Bruce and listening to him is always fun! Chapter 14 is the best! lol

Great essays!

I laughed , I cried’ it was more fun than Cats” I’ve always thought of Bruce as a refreshing presence. He came through on this book.

A uniquely refreshing tale of short stories both personal and professional. Always a pleasure to hear personal accounts and a glimpse to the more down to earth side of our favorite actors.

Something to look forward to.

I never purchased an audiobook before so I had no idea what to expect. But hearing the actual author tell their own story in the way they experienced it brought a surprising delight and comfort in these ever-changing times. One thing I know for sure I was never much of a bike rider but now I find myself shopping for a bicycle. I was first introduced to Bruce form my grandfather who rented a VHS copy of army of darkness. over the years I've slowly started collecting the movies and shows Bruce play'ed a major role in. watching his movies always reminds me of my family and brings a smile to my face. If you took the time to read this because you wasn't sure if it was worth the listen then rest easy because it definitely is.

Enjoyable

I’m a fan of Bruce Campbell, from Burn Notice. You get to know Bruce on a different, more personal level through this book of essays. My husband, who doesn’t normally listen along with me, did on this book. Quite enjoyable, even laugh out loud moments. I’d listen to this book again. Strongly suggest.

Great stories from a cool guy

I always enjoyed watching Bruce on Burn Notice and was interested to hear more about his life. He is a great storyteller and has led an interesting life for sure, highly recommend this book

Entertaining, Charming, & Insightful

I am a huge Bruce Campbell fan. I was pleasantly surprised to connect with this audiobook. It was a refreshing respite from the depths of the Pandemic. Bruce's narration was engaging, entertaining, personal, and impactful. I loved all the stories. The stories were insightful and breezy. I enjoyed it so much that before I knew it, the book was done. Thanks, Bruce, for always bringing your best to your creative endeavors!

it's Bruce, so what's not to love? learned something new and enjoyed his work in this style of writing.. the best part of this as an audiobook is having Bruce read his own work.. you get the emphasis he wants you to have.. a few light impressions.. all in an almost too short of a bundle of chapters that are easy to smash through.
