narrator simply horrible

couldn't listen to for more than 10 min. narrator to annoying....poor job. I mean, who would go through all the work of production and choose her to read it? lol

Great Collection - Poor Recording

If you could sum up The Complete Writings of St. Francis of Assisi with Biography in three words, what would they be?

What a wonderful gift - biographies, the Little Flowers, lives of early followers - an unexpected treasure. Unfortunately, the publisher scrimped on the recording. It sounds like they're using some sort of editing program that deletes tiny bits of silence - making the recording sound like a patchwork quilt.I'll listen anyway - the Little Flowers are irresistible. But really, we deserve a quality recording!

Would you be willing to try another one of Melissa Silvestro’s performances?

Her reading voice is fine. The problem is with the editing and splicing of tiny segments. Just turn on the mic and let her read!

A Wealth of Knowledge

I'm a secular Franciscan for 16 years and counting. The Complete Writings of St. Francis of Assisi is an amazing resource to have to be able to understand and appreciate St. Francis. This audio book has helped renew and strengthen my appreciation for St. Francis and the Franciscan order. The narrator speaks clearly and is easy to understand. The smooth narrator's voice made listening quite enjoyable. I highly recommend this audio book to anyone who either wants to own the complete writings of St. Francis of Assisi or simply wants to have a better understanding of who he is and what he taught.

Get a new Narrator!

Great writtings should savored, like dark chocolate or fine wine. The narrator sucks the life out of the reader from the 3rd word annd made it impossible to finish.
