Hell has no fury like the devil's daughter. I loved this, it's original and really interesting.

The narrator does really good with the voices and keeps your interest peaked throughout the story.

This was an excellent book.It seemed like an old 80's horror novel. Christopher finds a girl on the bus staring at him.She is shocked that he can see her.This leads to a trip to and through a horror carnival and a revealtion no one is ready for.Christopher Graybill was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

The Party That Truly Never Ends

Nice original concept. I had no idea what was going to come next and had to keep listening. It wasn't scary but had some thought provoking horror concepts. It was an enjoyable listen!

Chris Graybill does another fantastic narration! I also enjoyed him in Electric Detective.

Entertaining Tale of the Afterlife

This is an interesting tale of the afterlife wherein our main character finds himself dead and ferried along to a macabre view of purgatory (the carnival of night) by the daughter of death. There's some nods to Greek mythology but the great triumph at hand is the creepiness of the carnival and the fact that so much world building is done in a story of this length. It's entertaining and has a solid ending as well.

Original short story

Entertaining short story about a carnival I never want to visit. Macabre way to describe purgatory. I was hooked until the very end. The narrator was excellent.

good listen, kinda jumpy, but overall, good listen

i did like the book, its sci fi, with an odd view of what comes next. if you like sci fi im sure youll like it.

A Story That Begs To Be Read In One Sitting

At the time of writing this review, there were 58 5-star reviews (out of 58). I’ll add at least number 59. I won’t say that I went into this skeptical, but that’s a hell of a lot of 5-star reviews for a book.

Carnival of the Night was one of those stories that just builds and builds and builds. It starts off almost unassuming but by the end you find yourself wanting to flip forward (or skip forward in my case) to the end just to see what happens.

This was my first book by author Nicholas Carey and it will not be my last. He wrote one heck of a story that I had a hard time putting down. Thankfully it’s a short story/novella so I didn’t have to wait too long to get to the end.

Apparently, this story started on reddit (upon checking out some of the other reviews) and I’m glad that I waited until the entire thing was finished and produced into an audiobook because I wouldn’t have been able to just read it piece by piece. Carey tells a story that begs to be finished in one sitting.

Overall, a great story that was both well written and well performed. I thought that Christopher Graybill did a wonderful job helping Carey's words jump off of the page an into my ears. He was able to give the story that little bit of an edge that had me on the edge of my seat.

Pulls You In

This is a quick tale of a soul going to purgatory - but it's actually a carnival - and his fight to get out. I was quite intrigued by the story and enjoyed the use of mythology. It's well-written and very entertaining. It pulls you in immediately, moves along at a good pace as you meet the various characters who work the carnival until it works its way to the final showdown.

The narrator, Christopher Graybill, is great. He does a wonderful job with the various character voices - especially the Fool, who runs the carnival.

A Great Listen

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. You never know when the Greek Gods will cause you trouble. For Christopher, it all happens one night, when he finds out he's dead and heading to the wrong place. Purgatory is not for the weak. It's a carnival filled with all of Christopher's fears and he wants to leave, but he has a friend he needs to help first. Very interesting characters and a nice twist on the Greek Gods. Lots of action and suspense to keep to intrigued until the end. The perfect length for a road trip.

Fun dark quick read

This is an odd book, and there are just a few people I would recommend it to, but those people will love it. The types of people who will like this are those that like having the personification of Death. But probably not people who are overly religious.

I enjoyed the story and the various situations and solutions, and loved the way that Christopher Graybill brought the characters to life (even Death).

For the right person, this is an enjoyable quick listen
