Tru becomes the prime suspect as she hadn't hid the fact that she hated having all of those wonderful books replaced by tablets and computers.

Tru knows she's in a heap of trouble, and it doesn't help that the officer in charge of the case is her old crush from high school, who broke her teenaged heart. To keep herself out of jail and her beloved bookroom up and running, Tru - with the help of Tori, Flossie, and a brown tabby stray cat named Dewey Decimal - decides to investigate.

FUN READ--I WILL BUY BK 2

"The Broken Spine" was a totally enjoyable read/listen. The characters are easy to imagine and feel you know. The setting of the story is fun and comfortable. The plot was excellently covered and kept you interested until the end.

Allyson Ryan, the narrator, thank you for a wonder job. You presented the story perfectly.

I will be buying book 2

The story was interesting but some things prevent it from being a five star rating

although I didn't love the story, I didn't hate it either. I might continue listening to the books in the series. I wasn't a very big fan of the narrator. she did an okay job but I did not like how she changed her voice so much for certain characters, especially male characters. I have listened to many other audiobooks and oftentimes the narrator will not change their voice so drastically to fit different characters. it is a narration of a book, not a TV show. The other things that kind of bothered me were were that the main character made a lot of assumptions throughout the book that had very little evidence to back them up, which kind of annoyed me. I want to be on the same page as the protagonist and I feel like I was not for half of this story and I was constantly feeling let down or not a big fan of the main character. And I also didn't really like how much emphasis was put on the fact that they were in a library or that they are librarians. there were a few times where I actually cringed because they would be in a very serious altercation and there would be comments from the main character like "don't yell. we're in a library" But in real world scenarios that would definitely be the case. people would be yelling because it's a very serious altercation. I feel like the author had to clarify the emphasis on librarians and being quiet in a library far too often in this book.
But otherwise it was an interesting story.

A great cozy!

Characters are well-written and developed. Narrator is one of my favorites! Looking forward to the next in the series.

I loved everything about it, it was a great story, loved the characters and the storyline. I loved the library.

I love the twists and turns I never suspected the guilty party.At first I guessed the older Librarian then I guessed Ann.

EXCELLENT NEW COZY MYSTERY

LOVED THIS FIRST IN A NEW MYSTERY SERIES. TRU, TORI, FLOSSIE, AND THE ARRAY OF CHARACTERS ARE GREAT. LOTS OF SECRETS, STORIES, AND RELATIONSHIPS AWAIT US. I JUST HOPE THE NEXT BOOK IS RELEASED SOON.

The characters were very cleaver and well rounded.

I loved the fact that this mystery kept me guessing and the main character didn’t know everything. The cat was full of personality.

Fun cozy mystery

I really really loved this book. I was a fun and cozy listen and the narrator did an fantastic job. I’ll admit the FMC got on my nerves at times especially her inner monologue and the rush to accuse those close to her but the book was fun, funny and kept me wanting more

Intriguing cozy mystery

This one keeps your interest and you’ll be guessing throughout. Several characters to keep the storyline interesting.

Totally Unrealistic

It was so long and drawn out, The plot to destroy library books for no apparent reason is unrealistic. The idea of having cats & criminals running around the library is also unrealistic. People basically living in the library is boring.
I tried three times to finish it but it is impossible.
