good not great.

A lot Lovecraft wannabes but only a few that hit all the right notes it was a good time waster at work though. And while none of these tales will keep me up at night there were a few good chills.

It was okay.

I don't fault the writing. But maybe Narrators could be vetted more? For sperformance sake, I mean. Also, with stories, like the very last, perhaps hiring female narrators would be best. I don't see anything wrong with coed narration for parts where a woman is speaking. Men can be a little harder to listen to for female characters though.

A mixed bag very well read

Meh, some pretty good stories, and some not so great. The not as good ones have that tales of the weird flavor. They writhe in their depravity and then die/end, and you walk away thinking, "hmm, well that's over then".
The performance of the narrator is excellent, compelling-- felt the urge to listen to even the bad or boring stories so as not to miss their
expert rendering.

Good Enough for my Commute

So far this is my least favorite volume and only the last story was memorable. The narration is hit or miss. When Mark starts speaking loudly I think of a failed thespian, how he narrates distracts from some of the stories. Technically these stories belong under the horror genre but they don't feel like horror (if that makes any sense).

Not really horror for me but...

...there were some surprisingly decent stories in this volume. The last story was by far my favorite and I wanted it to continue. Not bad, not bad at all.

Hit and miss but overall very entertaining

I liked it just fine. The narrator is what made it all worth it though

Wonderful narrators for every tale

If you love short story horror, these compilations are for you. All excellent with something for every genre preference.

A fine collection of stories, dealing with many types of horror from a variety of perspectives. Highly recommended.

I totally enjoyed

went I was halfway in the book I started getting all the audio books and all the best of horror of the year books there are 13 and 14 soon to come, that's how much I enjoy it, the stories are great some twenty minutes and some ninety minutes and they are all good, I'm a sci-fi man and now I'm totally enjoying both horror short stories
