Should be required reading for any dog owner

I've read a ton of dog books and this is the first one I've read that contained no bad information and was completely in line with my teaching philosophy. This should really be required reading for any potential dog owner.

Recommended for any dog owner

I’ve been listening to Mike’s podcast for years and finally read the book due to adding a dog to our family recently. In this book, Mike does a great job of laying out easy-to-follow guidelines on initial training of a puppy or methods on fixing behaviors. Highly recommended.

this is a must have anyone who wants to lay a solid foundation in the relationship between their dog and themselves.

I'm excited to start!

I have a 70lb 7mo GSD that is extremely trainable and I have been working with him since we took him home at 4 months. I am at a point that I want to go further with training however I still have issues that I didn't know how to address (i.e. Over eagerness around my kids where he knocks them down, destruction of carpet/baseboards when no one is around). I am eager to employ some of the methods that were presented in this book. I have never used a clicker to train but I am looking forward to getting started. I already have my clicker ordered having just finished this book. This book was put together really well everything was very relevant without any fluff that I wasn't interested in hearing. It really gave me insight into how to train my dog so that we become a team.

A Wonderful Insight into Dog Behavior

Not necessarily what you would expect when you read the title. Mike provides wonderful insight into dog behavior. Great for anyone experienced or inexperienced and dog handling.

Best training book for dog owners

I train a Belgian malinios for search and rescue but this brings it to the next level in understanding a dog.

A good guide for a dog/ human relationship

As someone who owned one or several dogs during my entire life, I have learned many things by reading this book; things I knew but didn’t apply to my dogs. This book is very inspiring and helpful for learning to set boundaries and be consistent with the tasks you expect your dog to learn, understand and respect. This is a great book for every dog owner.
