Acerca de esta escucha

The vast majority of Americans - 71 percent - believe the economy is rigged in favor of the rich. Guess what? They're right.

How do you rig an economy? You start with the tax code. In Tax the Rich!, former BlackRock executive Morris Pearl, the millionaire chair of the Patriotic Millionaires, and Erica Payne, the organization's founder, take listeners on an engaging and enlightening insider's tour of the nation's tax code, explaining exactly how "the rich" - and the politicians they control - manipulate the US tax code to ensure the rich get richer and everyone else is left holding the bag.

Blunt and irreverent, Tax the Rich! unapologetically dismantles the "intellectual" justifications for a tax code that virtually guarantees destabilizing levels of inequality and consequent social unrest. Infographics, charts, cartoons, and lively characters, including "the Werkhardts" and "the Slumps", make a complicated subject accessible (and, yes, sometimes even funny) and illuminate the practical reforms that can put America on the road to stability and shared prosperity before it's too late. Never have the arguments in this book been more timely - or more important.

Loved the enlightening content

The rich think that if they create jobs, the employees will pay the taxes that I would have owed. That is how I envisioned how rich people think from the content. I believe in a wealth tax wholeheartedly.

An insiders view of taxing and fairness

We all realize we are staring into an abyss of political turmoil; however, most of us have no idea how or why we feel as we do or how we’ve gotten here. This book does a good job of explaining how the rich obfuscates issues to enrich themselves at every opportunity and how the rest of us all pay for it; corporate welfare for the already rich.

It never made sense to me why people would accept the axiom of “trickle down” when most at the bottom would just get a trickle. This all pits us one against another for the meager resources left over and most of us are too busy working and paying taxes to even realize we are getting our pockets picked.

Maybe this is why the Bible mentioned that is is easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle that a rich man to get into heaven…heaven help them.

A logical answer to the question of what is wrong with our country

The most readable and direct to the point book I have read on the subjects of taxation and inequality. Essential reading as a challenging era and new opportunities confront us.
